Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, they're great! Made these for the first time today and they were so easy and light and fluffy. Will definitely make again and again.  ;D ;D ;D

Another big thank you! Just made a half batch with thickened cream, baked at 200c in a fan forced oven. Thought my old recipe was pretty good but these were dee-licious. Dh agrees best batch ever...

Just checking in to send a link to a friend for this recipe. Still going strong I see.  :D Yes everyone who has asked - it is a great recipe to add whatever extras you want to - dried fruit, bacon, cheese, olives, blueberries, lavender the list is endless and is often used as a scone base for pizza too.  ;) Love to all.  8)

So...last time I made these I had lots of left overs so decided to freeze them....ok, I know, freezing scones is not ok! But...I defrosted them in the microwave then gave them 5 mins in the oven (the microwave made them a bit moist on the outside) and they were great! I'll definitely be doing this again for unexpected guests:)

I have mixed these up this morning and currently have then in the oven cooking. Fingers crossed it works. Mixture was a bit moist and I found it hard to get out of the thermie. Any suggestions for that? Also have any of you ever tried cooking scones in the slow cooker instead of the oven? My cousin has been doing heaps of cooking in the slow cooker and has  made scrolls from scone mixture. She cooks them in the SC for 2 hours on low. So if you are having someone come for morning tea you can prepare it hours earlier put it in the slow cooker and serve when they arrive. Your scones will be hot and delicious.

Justka, I add a bit of extra flour and turbo for a few seconds,  then knead this in to mix.  Slow cooker sounds good.  Only Q is why not on High ,  as we cook scones in hot oven. 
Always make these with GC, get some funny shapes. Also often add fruit and or Dates and make fruit scones ,  add cheese into mix and on top,  cheese scones.

I'm with you obbie - I love it too.  Don't use any other scone recipe but this one.  I made a batch last Sunday for my parents.

Also love this recipe.  I sometimes add 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder if I think my SR flour is a bit stale.
