I'm ashamed to say this was my first introduction to Thermomix chopped salads and at a customers house during a demonstration too.

I loved it (although I'm alone in the house on eating salads) and although I can't eat raw broccoli usually - I have no problem with this.  I really need to up my vegetable intake and eat more healthily generally and this little baby helps a lot.

I am utterly adoring my TM5

Hi, I also am not given to salads that much but nevertheless, this was my first recipe I have made with my TM5 which arrived today. Broccoli salad sounds a bit uninviting and you think that it is going to just taste of raw broccoli I  scaled this recipe to 1/3 and wondered if that would alter it's appearance.I need not have worried. I used red wine vinegar instead of the white. I loved this salad. It had a refreshing flavour  Very fresh and healthy I thought with an edge to it that I hadn't expected.  Already I have entered it in as a favourite.

That looks really lovely DD, I've never eaten raw broccoli but your picture tells me I should give it a go this summer. It looks better than the picture of the broccoli salad in the EDC for the TM31, I wonder if it's the same recipe?

Hello Judy, I had to part with my book on the TM31 but maybe someone has that recipe on here. I am guessing that it is not ethical to send the TM5 one.  but maybe I could have just mentioned the difference. :-))

I've only made this once and wasn't that impressed. I will give it another go and try red wine vinegar.

I've been looking to expand my salad recipes so was pleased to come across this post. I made this salad last night (recipe from EDC) and despite some misgivings about eating raw broccoli my DH loved it. I left out the onion and used a glug of TM mayo along with a little less yoghurt and was very happy with it. I didn't bother peeling the pink lady apple and it looked quite festive.

In the Australian T5 book it doesn't ask for vinegar of any discription in this recipe, but does ask for 20g lemon juice.  Can I ask if this is the same amount of vinegar to use (instead of lemon juice) in the UK book please?

They ask for 15g of fruit vinegar or white balsamic vinegar Julie.
I'll PM you the ingredients so you can compare the two recipes.

Another simple delicious salad.I didn't have enough red pepper ( capsicum) so added a orange one to make up the weight.

Just gave this a go, halved the recipe and substituted yoghurt with Ranch dressing, used white balamic vinegar instead of the lemon juice and my TM31 recipe didn't include any red pepper which I didn't have anyway.

After 8 years I finally got around to trying this salad and I was pleasantly surprised.  It was your link today that finally got the job done Denise so I thank you for that.
