Make sure you read the fine print on the monthly charges Nea and add them up over the 12 months for the interest free deal. It may be cheaper to do the Easy 3 option if it is available.

The easy 3 option is available. I was offered this but am paying cash for mine. There is a $70 establishment fee for the interest free through Once Credit and there is a $50 fee for the easy 3 option.

Spare parts?

I am not able to upgrade, but would like confirmation that spare parts will continue to be available for Tm31. Presumably spares are still available for the previous tm21?

I am sorry for all the upset, and understand the frustration felt by many. The Tm31 is a great machine, and I am glad I've got one, just it is a, it noisy at times!

Question for the mods: How will this affect the forum recipes? Will we be able to still use tm 5 recipes in tm31? And vice versa?

Thanks

Have been told that spare parts for the TM31 will be available for 20 years after the release of the new TM5 which is good because like you that was my worry.  Have also been told that most recipes will be OK for TM31.  I suppose over the next few months we will hear more.

As the machines are much the same DJ I don't really think there will be a lot of difference in the recipes.
They still make spare parts for the TM21 and have said that spare parts for TM31 will be available as Trudy said.

TM5 side by side with TM31: http://youtu.be/sS7CYtOupd4

Thanks for the link Leontine. At the end of the day it was his opinion and his sidekick in the background. I think he has just confirmed what others have been saying. If you are happy with your TMX31 there is no need to upgrade. If you are considering buying a TMX then heck yeah buy the new model.  :D

Can't speak for the forum but you get this message on the recipe community:

It's such a shame that something people loved so much has been ruined. Vorwerk really made a mistake by holding everyone to silence. Instead of all the excitement of a new thermomix launching and all the positive press (look how many iPhone articles there are announcing the event to announce the iPhone 6) they've only been getting negative press and a lot of upset people all over social media. I told my coworkers what happened, and I know now they won't be purchasing one any time soon!

I'm sure the money they made not having to sell the TM31 discounted isn't worth the backlash and the damage control they've got install for them.

I have ordered mine, last Thursday, I was told up to 2 weeks to get it here.

Obbie how did you manage to order it last Thursday before the official announcement was made? Did you go through HO or a consultant?

From everything I've read both HO & consultants were still not confirming there was a new model before the announcement.  You must have friends in high places!!

Well I can tell you Obbie's order was not the only one on Thursday. I know for a fact orders were taken from Wednesday.

Well that will make the unhappy people even more unhappy (and rightly so)

The consultants had to know what was happening at least a few weeks in advance - they didn't just wake up Saturday morning to find a TMX 5 on their doorstep.
