This was really yum and so, so easy.

I was going to see what it was like on cous cous (trying to limit starchy/carb food here atm) but didn't have any so it ended up served on packet pumpkin mash lol

Variations:

I used a whole bottle of beer not just one cup.
I marinated the meat in the beer for a few hours before cooking.
I threw 2 carrots, a zucchini and potato in the tmx and diced them up somewhat finely and then put in the fridge prior to putting beef, beer, french onion soup in. (My kids don't like eating veges so try to hide them a bit but I wanted dish to have some colour other than brown!) lol
20 minutes to go I added the diced up veges.
I had to use cornflour to thicken up further due to extra fluid used.

Again, really simple and delicious flavour. :)

Yes, I didn't want to push my luck too far on the vege side!! The little one ate most of hers but the big one was not impressed.  She's having bowel issues at the moment and we're trying to get her to eat more veges but she is a wily one! lol

Thinking of making it into a pie hehe (the leftovers) :)

I'm making this as we speak... smells awsome! I have only used a cup of beer (so I s'pose that means I'll have to drink the rest of the stubbie! yay 4 me ;D), and only had 520g's of steak in the pack I thawed, so will probably have a good amount of sauce/gravy, and am going to chuck in vegies with meat. My little tackers are good vegie eaters anyway, but putting them all in together just makes it an all in one job and I like those the best...!!

We had this while we were away as it is so easy to cook in a limited space. I put vegies in with it and we had a one bowl dinner.
We love it.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I made this as my first dish in my new thermomix.  My husband and kids loved it.  I did what other people said and added vegies in at 25 mins before it finishes cooking.  I found that the potato and carrott wasn't cooked so next time i think i will put in about 40 mins into cooking time so half way.  I also made a foccacia to have with it and for my first attempt at bread it was a huge hit turned out perfect was so proud.  My hubby reckons i set the bar high for myself so think he is expecting it to get better LOL

Glad you enjoyed it cattro, I haven't done it for ages but must give it a try with all the vegies in it too. One pot meals are wonderful.

I made this up this morning following a pm from a new member who told me her meat had fallen to bits.  I only had 410g blade (not oyster blade) steak in the freezer so did half quantity and used the following

410g blade steak cut into 3cm dice
10g FOSM
125 mls beer

Butterfly in, added ingredients and cooked 40 mins/100o/speed 1/reverse.

There was hardly any liquid left at this point so I added a dessertspoon of cornflour to 1 MC of water, added it to the meat and cooked it for a further 2 minutes as above to thicken it.  Alternatively, use a bit more beer in the first instance but this worked well for me. I keep the French Onion Soup Mix substitute in the freezer and use 3.5 Tblspns to replace a 35g packet of bought French Onion Soup Mix. If you want to add vegies as some of girls have already done, you will certainly need to add more liquid to start with.
