Poor Courton. I hope the oldies have had their flu shots. Maybe you should have one next year as well. It is a hard on keeping the germs away. It will soon pass but in the meanwhile take care.

Father's Day and DH woke up to lots of lovely messages from the family  ;D

Can't believe I have wifi this morning. Nothing yesterday a part from a few seconds here and there.
Off to the Amalfi coast today for a 3 night stay. Stopping at Pompei on the way there.

Courton I hope you're not too ill. My DH has come down with the flu after an ear infection. He rarely gets sick and this has really knocked him out. He is actually sitting on the lounge asleep, something he rarely does.

DD I am glad your job is safe. It is very concerning for so many people.

Get well wishes for all who are not feeling the best today. :-* :-*

I sat on the front veranda at Morpeth with Geoff and others today watching the tall ships go by surrounded by a flotilla of small yachts and boats.  An amazing sight and the coastline was absolutely packed with spectators and people out enjoying such a warm Fathers' Day. We had a visit from SIL from Melbourne and I'm going out to dinner with him and his family later tonight. Called into see Katie & her DH for a coffee/muffin also.

That sounds like a lovely sight Judy. Did Geoff enjoy the ships going by?

Yes he did Cookie and there was so much else to look at as well with the amount of traffic and people down at the foreshore today.  Local businesses would have done very well too

It would have been lovely there today Judy as the weather was perfect. It was so warm that i had to change into a short sleeved top and thongs. Pity we couldn't have put this weather on for CC.
We had a lovely family lunch in the garden today to celebrate Father's Day. The only downside was that my pod coffee machine died on me and I've just checked the purchase date and discovered that I am less than a month outside the warranty period  ::
Last week DH bought 6 packs of reusable pods and POK's daily deal last week was a Nespresso machine >:(

Yes it would have been perfect to show off to CC but it was not to be ES. Al fresco dining would have been very popular today.
Bad timing with your coffee machine.

Good to see you back cookie and loved hearing about your trip and seeing your wonderful photos.

So pleased you and Geoff had a lovely Father's Day Judy.

We left Rome this morning and enjoyed a visit to Monte Cassino abbey and  Pompei on our wat to Sorrento. Visited the Commonwealth Cemetery at Monte Cassino where hundreds of young soldiers are buried. was very moving and sad.
Staying in a stunning hotel overlooking the Bay of Naples. Positano tomorrow and Capri the following day.
Italy is such a vibrant and diverse country with fabulous food, scenery, history and people I  won't want to leave  ;)
