The cold weather didn’t completely curtail my shopping. I managed 3 new cooking books, several offset silicone spatulas, ( good for AF ). A ceramic butter dish. A Pineapple Sage plant and 2 Hellebore plants. One a lovely deep purple and the other delicate cream with pink edges. Lots of new foodie ideas. I hadn’t been back to Kyneton for 10 years, the change was amazing.

Keep trying Marina. Have you used Silken Tofu ? I’ve nailed the Asian soup we had while away. DD thought it had Vegemite in it. I think she could taste the fish sauce ,as it was Asian. First thing I did after unpacking was made the soup for dinner. All made inTMX of course. Base, light veggie soup, carrot, celery and garlic. Sauté in evoo. 2 1/2 cups water or chicken stock. I added 2 soup cubes. Cook and liquidise. Add tin of coconut milk and fish sauce. Add lemongrass paste or lemon zest. Reheat. Garnish with chives. Could add noodles, prawns, mushrooms, chicken, asparagus etc.

Greek day for me - Greek pasta salad, full of good fresh veges and a "Giant" beans recipe. Also experimented with a new vegan macaroni and cheese recipe, but still can't get to the texture or anywhere near the taste of real cheese sauce. I have been close a few times, but still not there yet. The search goes on.

Still cold in this area today - feels more like mid winter than spring - although we didn't have the weather you got yesterday, Chookie, the ground here is white just now, so I doubt it will get too much warmer as the day goes on.
I am busy doing my usual weekend cooking to keep us going with dinners all week as well as giving the house a clean out as we are off to Italy for a week next Monday and we have people staying here in Guildford for the week whilst we are away.

Last night we had dinner in an Asian Restaurant in Kyneton. Although we indulged at the 80 th party, we still managed to sample Asian soup,( very good), Quail, Squid, steamed whole Snapper, Asian Greens. The soup was a base of coconut milk with fish sauce and other Asian condiments.
