With due respect Melissa, but the above statement is a bit of a joke given not a single person from Thermomix, yourself as the consultant I bought my machine through included, has even bothered to contact me to "demonstrate" the benefits/use of the machine and/or enquire as to how I am going. I've taught myself thanks to having owned the TM31 previously and with the help of YouTube and the incredibly helpful members on this forum.
Based on my experience with this purchase, I think there should be a price differential (of a couple hundred dollars) for customers receiving the "full service" consultant support experience versus customers like me where the level of "consultant support" has been no better than ordering a product of Amazon.

one of the main reasons I bought a TMX was for the steaming capability of the aroma. Well I wanted to make a Vietnamese mung bean sweet rice and coconut - it's a sweet treat that sells for about $3 for a very small tray and I love it. Anyway, I washed and soaked overnight the sweet rice and mung beans and have spent the better part of an afternoon laborious steaming the mung beans, incorporating into the rice and then steaming the beans and rice together in batches etc...only for it to be a total failure. Mine had no taste/flavour. The ready made must have a lot of sugar in it. So disappointed.

Is the dough conditioner the same as bread improver? I haven't had any success trying to find the latter for some bread recipes. Where did you buy the dough conditioner Allen USA?

I love New England Clam Chowder. Epicurious on the web has an excellent NE Clam Chowder recipe that I have made many times to rave reviews. The only liquid it has is clam juice. It's an expensive recipe to make but very delicious. I have not tried converting to TMX. You would have to halve the recipe for TMX because it makes a large pot.

Thanks very much Ladies. I have used the knead function to make Jamberie's Fluffy Pizza Bases, just didn't see turbo. But will look now.
Thanks again. I love the look of the TM5. Still noisy like a jet engine when crushing ice though.

I recently bought the TM5 and enjoying cooking the TMX way again. But I haven't found the Turbo switch? There's no demonstrations here so you pretty much teach yourself.

Welcome. I moved here (Charlotte, NC) from Australia a couple of years ago and recently ordered a TM5 too. I owned the previous model TM31 in Australia. This is a VERY helpful and friendly forum.

Interestingly, the result as 52/48 for leave versus remain so the opposite of what exit polls had suggested.
