A new week for shopping, just going to write last week off. Things happen & cant be helped. It could have been less if we had eaten a lot of take away, so I did choose the cheaper option. We had no take away ;D

Hoping to be in less pain this week & can cook more, only time will tell.

Spent a lot of time going through recipe books & magazines, I have hundres of recipes on my to do list now :D

I bought the american foodnet work mag at the airport, some good recipes in there I am hoping  to convert.

Looking at my menu plan for the week & all the Halloween food I want to make.

Gert, it would be so hard, if you ate takeaway, and packet stuff, and had 4 or 5 kids.
My friends spend $500 a week on food...  sorry $500 a week on processed food.

You mean $450 a week? That is $1800 every four weeks or a mortgage payment in some cases. Yikes.

We never ever had that amount of money to spend  on one weeks food for the four of us nor would I if we had. Incomes must be a Lot higher these  days.  Scary.

Incomes are tight, but when you go to the corner shop every day, it adds up.

feeding there 4 kids, plus half the neighbor  hood, all bought stuff, no cooking at all.

I much prefer to stay home and cook from scratch, its better, and cheaper... :)

$450.00, wow. I don't know how they do that. Having 4 children is expensive without spending all that money on food.

I spent $165 last week as stocked up on a few regular items that were on special. Don't need much this week and haven't spent anything so far although it's only Monday. The week before spent $38. Still very happy as it's so much better than what I use to spend.

DH got milk today, that's all.
Hoping to get to Thursday  before going again.

Lots of soup, lots of bread.

Missing satsumas though, forgot them last week.

This week's shopping came in at $111, so under my $120 budget. Not bad considering I splurged on salmon ($20!) and vanilla bean paste ($10!). Thought I could afford it with my $10 flybuy discount voucher - but the checkout girl didn't put it thru properly, she actually charged me 1 cent instead! Grrrr. Tempted to ring up & get another coupon.... I'm turning into such a tight-a#%e lol!

 >:( over again, $127. Wish I could say it was due to buying packaged food. A little is, but I know my main downfall this week. I didnt  menu plan properly & dh came to the supermarket sunday to help carry the food.

Better than last week, so it is going down.

Much better tha my old days :)

Hows everyone else :)

I had a shocker this week $180, first time in months that I was over by that much, but it wasn't on impulse had to stock up on meat,  chicken vegetables all the different flours, and nuts basically was running on empty, not any more lol. So all stocked up now and will go back to $100 a week which works really well and saving a lot, it's been the best thing have ever done except this week   >:(
