Yes wonder. Our local butcher shop ia around the corner.
You just fill out a "cut up sheet", to tell them what you want, what size, example.

I kilo mince
6 sausages
 2 steaks
 4 chops

we just work it out to suit us.
Packed, labelled, delivered.. :D

Our butcher has his own cattle too, so its good.
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

I would really recommend averaging out your budget Hally as Judy does. I was so down on myself on the weeks I went over budget, although have found when I've averaged it out over the 7 weeks I have been doing the challenge it has come in at a bit over $104.00 per week. Some weeks you buy extras on special and bulk items that last a few months. As long as it averages out to $100.00 a week or close. For me $200 a week was an average bill so $104.00 a week is 96% better than what I was spending.

Michele, prob a good idea, even if it averages out to $130 per week, that is so much better than my $250-$300 per week, mind you that did include cleaning products, but still we are saving heaps.

Very happy hubby :)

I have come in under budget again. Last week I spent a total of $123 and my budget was $135.
I dragged my DD to the supermarket after school and spent $55 on food at the supermarket and $25 on food for the cats. They will eat better than us this week!
I also spent $10 at the chicken shop for 2 free range chickens as I couldn't resist that bargain. Gert, they had a sign in front of their chickens which said "Beer can chicken" with a photo. I thought of you ;)

Bet you are. I have a chicken out too & pork belly. Was going to do Gerts pork belly but then saw Maddys in the pc. Too hard too choose. Lucky I have 4 in the house.

So many yummy recipes to cook, so hard to choose.

Menu planning today for next week. Mind you when not well find a roast the easiest to do :)

$5.90 so far this week, my week finishes today, menu plan done for next week, shopping list done. I have been including everything in my weekly total. Forgot about not including cleaning products, not that I use much. I  use enjo most of the time.
What about the bathroom stuff do you include that in your total?
I child-proofed my house, but they still get in!

I menu planned for this week shopped last Friday, keep all my veg in Tupperware and what's left still looks good. Only run out of onions and mushrooms. Will do next weeks shop this morning, need meat, fruit and veg, and very little else for next week.

I have got $74 left in my budget to last me to the end of the month and a Sunday dinner (for 8 adults, 10 children) to fit into that budget....  Luckily there was a special on red capsicums $2/kg, the other day and I have some mince in the freezer. Looking like stuffed red capsicums and pizza's from me, one of my daughters is bringing roast chicken (bless her) and I'll do roast veg too.  Have some dark chocolate in the pantry and cream in the fridge so thinking a chocolate tart for desert.... Have some choc cupcakes in the freezer for the children.  It's very creative cooking when you get down to the wire LOL!

I ran out of onions recently and ran over the road to borrow one - she doesn't buy fresh onions, only frozen chopped ones so that had to do.  Was quite OK for what I wanted though.  Point being, maybe a good idea to have a packet in the freezer for times like that girls or buy extra and chop and freeze our own.
