That's wonderful Judy. How do you go for fruit and veggies in your $0 weeks?

DH doesn't eat much fruit, only oranges and bananas so if I do a good shop at Farmer Jo's, it's enough to last me for 2 weeks Cookie. I always have back up frozen peas, corn, broadbeans and cans of fruit if I run out.  If my new week is about to start within a couple of days and I'm out of fruit and veg, there is always something in the freezer ready cooked to help me survive until my next shopping day.  If I go 5 days without going to the shop I figure I can go that extra yard and stay away for another couple of days if the bonus is a $0 free week again.

Well this week was $98 and really only had a few bags!  I need more coffee, so that will be $35 for a kilo before I start next week. I only bought 800 g of chicken breast, so am working our way through the meat I have in the freezer.

I was really happy with the groceries. Then I went to the chemist - $113 for two lots of meds and they will last one month. And I have others I have already purchased  >:(

So pi**ed of big time with costs of medications.

Judy,  you are an inspiration to all of us. ;D  Coffee $45 a kilo !!! Depends on how many visitors we have as to how long it lasts.  I buy Parmesan  in a block and freeze it.

Thank you Chookie, what a lovely thing to say.  I like buying some grocery items in bulk and am a stickler for looking at the price per 100g to make sure I am in fact getting the best price.  One example which goes against the tide in this regard is 1kg packs of plain and SR flour - they are always cheaper than buying the 2kg pack  ???  I used to try and work comparisons out in my head before the price per 100g came in on price tags so I was pretty pleased when that happened as it saves me a lot of time these days.

I find the same with sugar at times too. I always check the price per 100g. I love that they do that now.

Last week's total was $146.50. It's the first time I have gone over budget, but luckily I was under the previous week.
This week I've spent $123 at the supermarket and the growersf market, so I should come in under budget this week.
I can't imagine having a zero spend week though  :D

I too love the 100g price. I always look at that :) it can surprise you sometimes.

Judy I just coukdnt do a no shop week, milk, fruit & veg etc i buy each week.

Should be in budget this week.

Not much party food left, people took home more than they came with.

In bed with flu, lost my voice & to be honest feeling pretty sorry for myself.

Kitchen a mess & need to take decorations down, all can wait though.

Just did my weekly shop & so far I've spent $118 - I've made my budget $120/week including meat so I've just scraped in! We'll probably need bread before the week is out though & I haven't yet mastered making my own sandwich loaf. Any suggestions?

Deedub, chookies no fuss bread is so easy. Even having the flu I managed to throw  it together. So much cheaper than buying bread & of course so much nicer.

Well done on the shopping.
