News about Thermomix / Price increase of the TM5 in the UK
« on: January 09, 2017, 08:52:18 pm »
I've read on various FB pages that U.K. Thermomix will be increasing the price of the TM5 from the 1st of February 2017 due to the £ exchange rate and increase in price in other countries.

Another lovely delicious recipe.
I did find that I had to mix the pastry longer than stated on the chip to bring the mixture together.Just when I had popped it into the fridge to rest our DS turned up and the pastry was left for quite a long time.(The recipe recommends 30 minutes) I found it quite stiff and hard to roll out but once I got it going it rolled out beautifully.
I didn't have any raspberry jam so used my homemade Blackcurrant Jelly instead. Also I used more than a tablespoonful of flaked almonds to sprinkle over the filling.
It did take the full 35 minutes to cook in my oven.
With the leftover sweet pastry I made a few plain biscuits. These are delicious too.

A delicious creamy soup.I added a tablespoon of Chicken Stock Paste to the recipe and used evaporated milk instead of cream.

The U.K. Thermomix website has some ideas as does the BBC Good Food website, also the British Isles on a Plate index.

Lavender is an interesting ingredient to add to Shortbread.I'm not that keen on the flavour but it went well when served with the creamy Lemon Posset.
I have made another version of the recipe where you add the grated zest of an orange to the recipe. This I loved as did other friends who tried it. :D
The final version is the addition of a grated rind of a lemon to the recipe.Haven't tried that yet!

A cheap, quick, smooth delicious soup that I loved.I did cook the peas an extra couple of minutes.I added the mint to suit my own personal taste,I think 10g would have been overpowering. :-\

An interesting potato dish that my spud loving DH loved  ;D I think next time I would reduce the milk slightly to mash the potatoes as they looked a bit sloppy but it still tasted great :D

Delicious pastry and a well balanced filling.
The book suggests that you roll the pastry out into a rectangle 45cm X 50cm.No way could I achieve this but was satisfied with my rectangle approx 40cm X 45cm.I froze most of the uncooked sausage rolls for Christmas but cooked five for taste testing and for a photo.
