After yesterday’s disaster with the SD I thought I had better make more bread today.
Made 3 French sticks, par baked, and 2 fruit sticks so I can have a small slice. Eating 1 stick with Bol sauce pasta for lunch.

They look delicious. I made a wholemeal loaf yesterday with seeds. It is nice, bit I want to try it a couple more times before I share it. It seems a little stiff. I may try adding some SD starter and reduce the yeast.

Cookie, love how you can play with a bread recipe.  Good stress therapy. I have just been reading about the Australian journalist who was in an Egyptian jail and made bread from the flour brought by fellow prisoners relatives. He captured the wild yeast from the cell and made SD bread.

That's amazing Chookie. I'm sure his bread was appreciated.

Chookie, I have a slicer similar to that shown but I have never seen the cooking top.  Is it a very old gadget?

Mab, it is the round mat that dies the trick. My DD bought me this for Xmas several years ago. I posted it on the Forum and lots of members bought them.  They are very difficult to buy. I have tracked one down on the internet.

I've got one as well. The problem with these is that I eat all of the chips as soon as they are ready and have to start all over again so that there are some for eveyone else. What potatoes do you use Chookie?

Marina the pink skinned ones seem the best. I tried some of the low carb ones but they turned very brown. Yesterday I cooked 3 dozen sausage rolls for the freezer and scones for morning tea today.   Also made mini bread rolls, 6 cm wide. Cut out with scone cutter. Going to make Mini Macs.
Today, DS and GC coming for lunch. Making pizza. Everyone will build their own. Also made ice creams on sticks. Chocolate base with chunks of crunchy bar mixed in.
