That is a pretty good walking pace. I am sure you could manage it again with a bit of practice.

There must have been a very enticing bottle at the end of that 10km Gert.

That was when I worked for Weight Watchers and weighed about 61 kilos. I had a street near me that was 1 kilometre around the block and I used to walk it 2 or three times a week. PPL used to come  out and laugh and wave at me.  I once walked from Whale Beach to Manly  in Sydney  but it took me all day as I had to stop at evey pub on the way. I got the bus back. that was a once off for sure.

Also used to get my  DH to drop me five or ten Kilometres from home and I would walk back.

Now I call the courtesy bus to get me to the pub and back. Much better.

If I lost 20 kilos and had bilateral hip replacements. LOL!

And why would I want to? ;D ;D

I don't brag and I don't give a tinkers cuss about my health. Well not so far.

If we put you in a desert with absolutely no cars, camels or any means of transport whatsoever, dehydrated you until only had one hour left to live, and put a water tank 10km away.

Nope. Wouldn't work. No way could anyone walk 10km in 59:59  on desert sand  if they were dehydrated.

Let the vultures have me like the Parsis. No worries.

Hmm.... good point Gert. It sounded clever when I was typing it :-))

I don't know why I thought it was clever. My brain isn't working today I'm afraid.

You guys are crazy.
I participated in the Launceston 10km, and the Burnie 10km 3 years ago and ended up with Achilles tendonitis in both legs, 7 weeks in plaster for left leg and supposed to have plaster for right leg too (but I haven't been back) :o
But the tendons are holding up pretty good with all this walking I have been doing. I think it took me a bit under 1.5 hours to walk 10km at a pretty steady pace.
