Been reading about thermomix for quite some time and if it was not for the price...would already own one...but will be going to a demo in Montreal next saturday with my wife and will probably walk out with one...sooooowill have to change the way we both cook I suppose....
-
Hi Chevvy56, welcome to the forum. How exciting for you both and you seemed resigned to the fact that you will buy one whereas most people say they are just going along to have a look :D Let us know how it all goes.
-
Hi Judy, yes it is really not resigned as much as rethinking a new way of cooking or baking....and it is quite interesting actually to read on this forum recipes tricks and ideas...people are really helpfull to each other...
-
Yes you are right there, this is a very friendly, helpful forum - we all love it here.
-
Welcome to the forum Chevvy56. It's great to hear that you are going to buy a Thermomix.A great friend to the forum Helene is from Canada and has a wonderful blog Super Kitchen Machine (http://www.superkitchenmachine.com/2013/18813/best-thermomix-bread-recipe.html) Forum members have been having fun trying the One Minute Thermomix Dutch Oven Bread from her website.Have fun cooking.
-
:)Hi to you too...luv that picture...yes I actually spend the last 2 days on her site ,reading searching her recommended sites ,recipes...she is quite knowledgable and always willing to help, but I can see some limitations with the thermomix...like for instance I,m out of spaghetti sauce and when we do a batche my wife and I ,it usually is 20 to 30 cups of the finished product at a time,I dont see how I can fit all of my world "famous" ingredients into that machine, plus once it has the proper deasoning and taste I usually finish it in the oven for few hours....maybe I,ll have to do smaller batches...
-
Welcome to the forum Chevvy :D
-
Hi Mich ,well thank you and I,m just having a good time going into the recipes ans ideas there is on this site...
-
Welcome Chevvy. I hope you buy a thermomix even if you do have to do your famous sauce in smaller batches. It does some wonderful things.
You will find this forum one of the friendliest around.
-
Hello Chevvy and welcome. Hope you enjoy the demo.
-
Welcome Chevvy. I cook quite a lot in big batches. I use the TMX to chop onions and other veggies. This saves a lot of time. It is a new way of cooking but doesn't replace your oven.
-
Hello and welcome Chevvy - looking forward to the news you have made the purchase!!! :D
-
Hi and welcome to the forum. :D
-
Hi and welcome to the Forum. I am sure you will enjoy your Thermo mix when you purchase it. Note I said when - not if. It is a different way of cooking and we all still do some recipes the traditional way.. I love making bread and rolls in the TMX would never have considered it the traditional way. Yesterday I whipped up 4 batches of walnut refrigerator biscuits in no time. Sorry don't know how to link but it is under biscuits. Also soup and of course nice fresh bread rolls to go with it. Good luck
-
Welcome to,the forum.............you will never regret purchasing a TMX if you like cooking.
-
Welcome to the forum Chevvy. Can't wait to read what you and your Wife think after the demo.
-
Welcome to the forum! I too spent many hours on here researching to see if it was worth all the hype/money.
It is.
Happy cooking!
-
Welcome to the forum. Like you I used to make my sauce in the time honoured way my mother taught me long ago but I have been making it in my Thermothingy for the past four years and I think it is even better than my mother used to make. Ok smaller batches but that is fine. No storage problems!

Enjoy your Thermy. I know you'll buy one! Let's hope you can get one straight away.
-
Loved the demo today in Montreal...am now a proud owner of a TM31 with an extra bowl and 4 cookbooks! :)
This is what we'll be cooking tomorrow: zucchini soup (since zucchini is .99 a pound) plus carrot curry coconut soup...since we have all the ingredients!
Thanks to all you nice replies and support...just getting the hang of blogging so I am a little slow learning how to reply...

Chevvy56 that is good news.
Now you can tell us all about the things you make. Welcome to the land of Thermomix.
-
Congrats on your purchase Chevvy56. We are looking forward to hearing about your cooking adventures.Have fun ;D
-
Congrats Chevvy56. Great decision ;D Enjoy cooking in your new thermy. (You'll love the extra bowl too, makes cooking up a storm really fast and easy).
-
Great to hear you got your TM Cheevy :) Ive only recently got my second bowl and its been very handy
Looking forward to hearing how your soups go, have fun!
-
Yes the 3 batches of soup turned out great...and the cheese souffle....andthe dinner roll all in the same day...one bowl for the soup...the other for the souffle and the dinner rolls...was not sure to buy an extra bowl...cause it was already an expensive day.... :Dbut they were offering it for 300. dollars for that day only instead of the regular 400. dollars...plus the May special was 4 cookbooks instead of just the one that usually comes with the tm31....,very happy....Jean
-
Great to hear all went well, and you're putting both your TM bowls to good use already I see ;)
I waited 3 mths for the second bowl/blade set @ 1/2 price promo (if I had a demo) to get mine as I didn't want to pay full price for one
Aren't you pleased you did decide to go ahead and get your Thermie now?
-
Yes G.P. ,the second bowl really helps me to be more flexible when I do a recipe and save time, did surprise my wife last supper...used the Varoma for the first time;did a marinated steamed salmon, with zucchinni/carrots/mini corn veggies with a asparagus/mushroom risotto ...It all turned out great...but will not be doing my risotto in the bowl while steaming everything else in the steamer cause using the varoma setting while steaming the fish and the veggies perfectly the risotto is not supposed to be made at the varoma setting....oh well live and learn
