Tonight we are having bacon and eggs.

The freezer door was left open a little bit all night and luckily not things like leg of lamb, mince etc defrosted but bacon and other things did so will cook them up tonight.

Electricity going out is such a pain Astarra particularly if you don't know why it's going out. Is your whole kitchen electric? we are fortunate to have gas hot plates so it we loose the gas or the electricity cooking can go on pretty much as normal.

Yvette, bad luck about the freezer but lucky all the main products hadn't defrosted.

We are having Pepper Pork in the pressure cooker tonight from the WW pressure cooker book.

Yep, all electric - I had the option of gas or induction when we did up our kitchen - but I can't stand the smell of gas (I know, most people don't even notice it, but I do  :-)) ) So went induction (which I love love love - but is no good when there is no power!!!)  All good today thankfully!  :)

When my stove breaks down I'll get an induction so I guess I would be in the same postion then, although we do have a gas BBQ and now the charcoal tandoor

Tea last night was a lamb casserole & steamed vegies.  Tonight's is some steamed vegies added to the leftover lamb casserole so I guess it's a lamb stew  ;D

Looks yummy Judy, I love a good stew ;D

Right now I'm roasting some pumpkin, carrot and sweet potato for an "orange vegetable frittata" :D I'm roasting the vegies with garlic and some of the rosemary and thyme our friend gave us, so the house smells delicious ;D

I am always so impressed by how you turn one meal into two or more completely different meals.  Most inspiring.  I have been trying to do it more myself but have only really succeeded in converting roast dinners into alternative meals for the next few days.

Tonight we are having skirt steak cut thinly, with mustard spread on, then carrot, dill pickle and bacon put on top and then rolled up and cooked for a couple of hours. I initially found it in a WW  many years ago.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.
