Recipe Requests / altering recipes
« on: October 08, 2013, 06:14:22 am »
Could someone please help me out with suggestions on how to adapt an "ordinary" recipe, to one I can use in the thermomix?  I have also been given a new gluten free bread mix which is supposed to be REALLY great, and wonder if I just follow the method used in the TM recipe book, or ...........
Any advice would be much appreciated. :-[

Could someone please tell me why, when I follow directions to the "T", when I attempt to put time/veroma/speed in, the dial won't move?  Is there a particular order I should follow, i.e.speed/time/veroma?  Have ingredients all set to go but no go !!

Jams and Chutneys / Re: Lemon spread - achookwoman
« on: May 21, 2013, 02:05:54 am »
Hi achookwoman.  I am relatively new to my tm (but love it) and wonder with this lemon spread can the ingredients be doubled?  I have offered to make a few jars for a fund raiser morning tea for cancer.  Also, do you have any idea how long the spread would last?  Ta. ???

Hi chookwoman!  Recipe sounds great, but me still being a greeny at using my TM wonder about the dish that will fit into the vermo. Do you have to put the lid on the vermo, or just cover the dish?  Sorry to sound so very basic.

Thank you so much for all the support from everyone.  I went to a TM cooking class last night (first since becoming an owner) and it was mind boggling!  I learnt so much!  Am still trying the bread and will continue.  Let you know how I go.  Thanks again.

Introduce Yourself / Peanut butter
« on: January 06, 2013, 01:17:27 am »
Hi!  I am a new owner of a Thermomix, and hope to master it really soon.  Am sort of scared at the moment, but wonder if anyone can help me out with a tried and tested peanut butter recipe.  Needs not be peanuts, and I would like to incorporate almonds, brazils and chai seeds.  Can anyone help?  I'm not worried about salt and sugar.  Am used to buying the stuff without it anyway, and loooove crunchy! :-[

Bread / Bread???
« on: December 23, 2012, 01:38:18 am »
I am still having trouble making bread.  Since Gretchen helped me make first loaf I have had an incredibly fantastic loaf to match up to and cannot yet do it.  What am I doing wrong?  I have tried 3 times now using different flours, and none of them come out of the TM freely.  Any ideas or do I just keep on keeping on?  Also really anxious to try meals in TM but have no idea really where to start.  Hope to have demo in the new year.

Thanks to everyone who replied.,  Yes. I fixed the problem and yes, the lid was not fixed on properly.  The lentil bolognaise is really great!!  Have two more batches in the freezer.

Hi.  I am in the middle of making Lentil Bolognese from quirkycooking.  Have added oil and have to cook for 3 mins at 100 degrees speed 1.  I cannot get the speed lever to move.  Any help please?

Introduce Yourself / bread.
« on: December 01, 2012, 02:51:36 am »
Hi.  My kids and grandchildren have just bought me a thermomix and I am over the moon!  Friend Gretchen has helped me use it and lastnight I made some bread.  It was quite dry and wonder why.  I followed the recipe but used wholemeal flour and a touch of spelt also.  Any reasons for the dryness? ???
