Hello everyone (gosh it's even hard to type) thank you for all your good wishes and thoughts. I will wade through them all as I get more energy but I'm not really looking much better than when I went in. Guess it will take time and I have Geoff in respite until 1st December so it's just me I have to care for at the moment. Eating a little now but just basic stuff you crave when you have been in hospital. Just vegging out in the recliner in front of TV. Miss you all. xx Judy

From the WW Chinese Cooking Class recipe book:- 3 tblspns rice flour 1/4 cup sugar 2 cups water 2/3 cup lemon juice 2 chicken stock cubes 2 tspns soy sauce 1 tspn grated green ginger S & P 2 tspns dry sherry
Sorry, not well today so have a go at converting, should be easy enough.

Hi Amanda, lovely to see another S.A. TMX owner join us. Will have to call you sabimby though so as not to confuse you with our other Amanda. Looks like you are going great guns with your cooking and the 'stuff-ups' will decrease very quickly - you generally learn from all mistakes. Not reading the recipe before you do a step is still my greatest mistake but I am getting better.

Weetbix crumbs don't get wasted in this house. I crush the biscuits into my hot milk anyway so I want crumbs. Is that weird

Thanks Rowyfo, I did keep a record of the goo costs but I think I threw it out. I'm running low on goo at the moment and to get somewhere where I can source the gear needed for the powder is a bit out of my way and will mean a special trip but I would like to try it to compare it with the goo.

Great idea - I agree, they would look so much nicer and much quicker to serve to Cathy.

Has anyone worked out the cost of all the ingredients for the powder and how many washes you would get from one batch please? The goo is really cheap but I suspect the powder is going to be more expensive.

Nice to know it will rise, even at those low room temperatures MJ. Might just try the slower method myself and see if I can get a lighter, fluffier loaf. Mine have been just OK but I want them better than that. I slice and freeze my loaves for toasting so up until now it hasn't mattered.

This morning I made a smoothie (which I will tweak a little before submitting to the monthly Thermomix comp) and I have a batch of Cookie1's Peanut Butter Cookies in the oven at the moment.

Hi & welcome Kay. Great to hear the DH is getting into it too. Sounds like you are going to get the odd night off in the kitchen in the future.
