or possibly we are just all gut's?!

We are VERY fortunate with food costs as we have chooks, dad has wagyu, dorper and pigs and his own butcher shop and we are setting up a vegie garden this year so we can be pretty self sufficient with food - which will be VERY useful if we get into the habit of $1000 dinners :o

Lucky you zebby.   Please tell all if you get in.  When I heard they were opening in Melbourne I was interested, don't think I could pay that much though.

My first thought was No Way, but actually when I though more about it, DH and I have spent similar amounts on a night out or a weekend away - ours might have included show or concert tickets, flights to Auckland, and/or dinner (sometimes a night in a hotel too if we couldn't stay with my brother), but really if you consider this a night of entertainment as well as the food, well, lots of concerts are nearly that on their own, so it's not so surprising (still something very special though).

Just at the moment we have a big rush of things we have spent quite big dollars on - Neil Finn tomorrow night, Sound of Music on Sunday, WOW (world of wearable arts) awards next week, Dire Straits Experience in a couple of weeks....busy busy busy. We are certainly spending our year's worth of entertainment money in one burst, but it is doing what we love, so we are happy to spend it (and grateful we can).

Zebby if you can afford it go for it. DD just spent a heap for a Robbie W show so why not. I can't wait to hear what you have. I hope you get selected.

No  :(

A few friends did though so I will live through them.

On the upside, very good for the wallet!

Hubby tried to get in as a surprise for me. We didn't get the ballot. However we have had friends that have been and they say its not just a degustation its a full on show for nearly 5 hours. It sounds a lot but best seats at a show and dinner to follow wouldn't be much less.

$225  for a meal does sound outrageous but  for a once in a lifetime experience it may be worth it. But if it proves not worth it I would not tell anyone, I would just suck it up.

It costs less than a good seat at the opera at the Opera House in Sydney and there ain't  no food .

I was lucky enough to go last week and it was an incredible experience. Expensive, yes.  However, 5.5 hours of constant entertainment, the service far exceeded expectations and the food really was magical.

From start to finish it was a great experience that stimulated all the senses.

So very lucky, a fantastic memory for you.  We spent quite a few nights phoning from Aus to get into the one in the UK with no luck.
