Well I'm going to the Newcastle demo tomorrow. $80 is a lot of money (probably should have saved it for the WA weekend away) but I'm bored with the Back to Basics classes too and wouldn't mind doing a few more chefy dishes. Don't know whether or not I will buy the book yet. The reviews here at the forum aren't that great. Will probably try a few of the posted ones first.

I hope you enjoy the class and get something out of it.  Be sure to tell us all about it..

Well I've just gone back and reread the reviews. I do entertain a fair bit and don't have young children to cater for so it probably is a cookbook I'ld use. Will let you all know how it goes tomorrow.

Most of the specialist cooking classes in Melb. Are $ 90/100.  However there is so much talent on the Forum that you would only go to an advanced TMX cooking class to be entertained.  Once you can adapt a recipe to TMX,  the range is endless.  Cost aside,  I would support anyone who wants to share their knowledge of TMX.  I have been to a lot of B to B classes and have to admit that I  have learned something new from each.  The last one was,  not to remove the seal ring inside the lid each time you wash the lid,  and it will last much longer.

I go to a fair few cooking classes and demos, mostly non thermomix. I paid a lot of money to do the sour dough bread one.
I've paid as little as $5 for vegetarian classes at a local church. I know I will enjoy tomorrow and meet other thermomix enthusiasts.

Not a Thermomix demo or class but I am off on a two day cookery course next week and it's free ;D My lovely SIL and I have volunteered to attend a new cookery school in Cornwall to critique the whole experience. The course is based on preparation and cooking of Game.I might suggest that they buy a TM if they don't already have one ;)

What a great opportunity CC, can't wait to hear all about it.  I can see you sitting there thinking 'I could make this in the TMX'  ;D

Thanks CC, it sounds very interesting and I do hope it will be a success.  We need more cookery schools!  I wonder if they would be prepared to host TM demos / classes there as I think the nearest demos to Cornwall are in Exeter??  :-\
