I would love to be in the lucky dip Chookie. DH wants to be in it too.  :D

I would love some sour dough starter please Chookie. If I sterilize the jar before I leave home, will it still be OK 3-4 days later if I don't open it?

Michele,   starter should be fine in pre sterile bottle.  Would love DH to also join in.  You never know what he might get. ;D

Much as I would love some starter I won't take you up on your generous offer as, despite my best efforts (and those of my DH) and your advice, Bess, we have managed to kill 7 in the past year (including several based on the rye starter in Yoke's book "Wild Sourdough")!!!  I have reconciled myself to yeast bread only - at least I have success with that.

Marina,  when you do your test run, I could have a loaf ready for you to put in the oven.  You can return the tin when you come on the Sunday to meet CC. Let me know what you think.

Count me in for the lucky dip too!  How exciting!

If anyone going to the lunch would like some fresh lemon myrtle leaves, I could bring some over with me too ....

Thank you - that is very generous and I will look forward to your loaf of bread.  I will probably do the test run towards the middle of July - once we have battled through stock take and other EOFY chores!  Be sure to let me know if you would like me to bring anything up - either on the test run weekend or on the get together Sunday.  I go to Vic market every Saturday and picking up anything for you at the last minute would be no trouble at all.

If our trip is cancelled for any reason I will be there. Otherwise I will continue moderating when I have coverage. I think Birdsville does but not sure about places  like Marree. I don't think they do.

Cookie, I have been to Marree for work once, and they had "patchy" coverage there with Telstra.  Be a little careful of the hotel  ........... lots of rats when I was there  :o :o
