Thank you ILB :-*
-
Thx ILB :-* :-* :-*
-
My most heart-felt pleasure :-* :-*
I usually slice this and then freeze it. It's super delicious fresh with the Thermomix Choc Hazelnut spread!!! YUUMM!! ;D
-
i do make this one most of the time but i have a feeling my ever-increasingly fussy 4yo is going to reject it soon, i'd love any other GF recipes people have and love :)
-
I make this bread all the time for my highly allergic and intolerant 4 year old. I love it! So easy and it freezes so well. He is very proud to go to Daycare on Sandwich day and have the same foods as the other children :)
-
This is my fav GF bread recipie. Not close to gluten bread but still damn good.
-
give this a go now, fingers crossed
ciao
-
has anyone used a substitute for arrowroot/tapioca flour, I still havn't found one that is preservative free and really want to try this!
-
I have used potato starch, and it seems to work - not sure if it's got preservatives though...
I use a variation of this recipe to make my gf pizza dough (http://quirkycooking.blogspot.com/2011/01/gluten-free-pizza-base.html) - yummy and crispy! :)
-
Jo could I make this in advance? I have a last minute party guest who is ceoliac and I want to make sure she has lunch! If I can do it today that would be great if not how soon before hand can I do it?
Thanks, Kerryn
-
where do you get things like
millet or quinoa
white glutinous rice
Xanthan gum or Guar gum
arrowroot
Where are these things in woollies lol, do I need to find a health food shop? Is is a heavy bread?
Thanks
-
I found all expect the Xanthan gum or Guar gum at Coles
Xanthan gum or Guar gum at the health food shop
I made this yesterday for my dd inlaw and she loved it.
ciao
-
Kerryn, you can make the pizza bases ahead & prebake them, then re-warm them in the oven (with toppings if using) when ready.
-
I found xanthan gum at Coles in the health food section.
-
Hi
I have recently joined and am now happy to say that the GF bread is awsome.
Thanks so much
-
Hi & welcome spottie. What else have you tried.
-
ahoney I have found some organic tapioca flour that is preservative and additive free. My local wholefood store stocks it The brand is lotus and it comes in 500gm packs and I pay about $5 for it. I sometimes use this in custard if I am out of cornflour. Hope this helps.
-
thanks, my health food shop stocks the non-organic one with the preservative in it, so hopefully they can get the organic one for me!
-
Hi,
I am very new and want to make wheat free bread for my daughter. Can you just tell me, when it says "knead" is that by hand or if not what is function I need to use?
Thanks
Berpsie :)
-
hi berpsie the wheat sign :: is for keanding
and welcome to the forum
-
Thanks :)
That would make sense! Silly me! Will make some today
-
Berpsie you need to put the dial in the locked lid position set the time then press the :: button. Good luck :)
-
I made this yesterday for my gluten-free visitor, and it got a thumbs up as being better than the bought stuff.
-
So was the bread enough to convince your visitor to buy a Thermomix jkmt ;) ;)
-
Judy, she has seen me using it constantly this weekend. She's only 19 though, and her budget seems to disappear on horse stuff!
-
I'm new to this site, having just purchased my Thermomix. Can't wait to make this bread! Can anyone suggest an alternative for besan flour as I have a bad reaction to chickpeas please?
Beverlily :D
-
Hi Beverlily, welcome to the forum with your first posting. Why not pop over here (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?board=33.0) and tell us a bit more about yourself.
Wondering if this (http://www.fourleafmilling.com.au/products.php?id=59) information is helpful to you. I don't know whether the end product would be the same though. Others may have some ideas for you.
-
Thank you judydawn for this suggestion. I will give it a try and let you know of the results.
I have tried the 'introduce myself' page by clicking the spot, but couldn't see how to do so. I must be missing something very basic. I've even clicked the 'help' section but I can't find out how to introduce myself. ??? Might have to try again later when I can concentrate better (my 4yr old granddaughter is with me today). :-\
Thanks again for your help. :)
-
Beverlily, go to the Welcome page, click on 'new topic'. Fill in the subject heading then in the box below tell us your story then click on 'Post'. I know what it is like trying to work things out on a computer with youngsters around - not easy ;D ;D

Beverlily :D
You can use buckwheat instead of the chickpeas. :)
-
Oh dear! What did I do? I very carefully measured the ingredients, but I ended up with a batter, not a dough. Wiil have to try again, but with less water next time.
Anyone else have this problem?
-
Not a problem - that's how it is. Pity the recipe doesn't warn people.
-
Thanks for the tip re buckwheat flour, I was intending to try that. I've made the bread several times now using amaranth flour and that works too. ;D
I've made many different GF breads before I bought the TM and they have all been of a 'batter-like' consistency. This recipe is by far the best I've tried and the tastiest. It doesn't taste like cake mixture as some of them do. I love chia seeds and so add them to the mix for that extra boost of fibre and Omega 3. Yum!! ;)
Now I'm trying the mayonnaise....... :-\
-
I attended a sourdough gluten free workshoop last week and most of the doughs made with buckewheat, rice flour and sorghum flour were very batter like. I hadn't eaten buckwheat flour before and it is certainly a different taste.
-

You can get some from honest to goodness www.goodness.com.au
-
I'm just making this now. I halved the recipe as I only have a small tin and also added chia seeds :) The lovely Meagan has put me onto a very cheap distributor online so I can't wait to keep trying it all out ;D Thanks love :-*
-
Oh and I used all brown rice instead of half and half because I couldn't find glutinous rice any where!
-
whoopsies....sitting here eating all the bread I made for my son :o It is so yum! Should have made the full size though. It is a bit flat....would have been perfect in my tin in full sze
-
Glad it worked out B :)
-
I'm going for round 2! Full sized loaf this time.
-
I made this recipe on Christmas Day for my mum. It was such a thrill for her to enjoy tasty home made gluten free bread that really did look like 'artisan' bread. I was my first attempt and all went smoothly. Thank you.

Hey Meagan can you share the link for the chia seeds? pretty please :-* :-* :-* I use so many of them!

Kathryn it was 2 brothers foods. But not for chia just for millet etc. sorry :(
-
Marcoe, how wonderful for your Mum. Welcome to the forum with your first posting. Why not pop over to the Introduction Thread (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?board=33.0) and tell us a bit about yourself.

That's ok :) I use them all the time - have just gone wheat free for myself and may have to go further with GF so millet is on the in, in a big way anyway ;D
-
Whoops sorry. Reading that back it isn't very clear! It is for everything :) Making this bread quite a lot. I have been making it for everyone I know who is GF. That is a lot of bread!
-
Has anyone made this recipe into Rolls? I was going to try to make it. I saw another post about GF rolls but she said it was a bit crumbly. Not sure how this one would go. Any ideas?
-
You could pour the mixture into muffin tins to make something of a similar size to a roll. The mixture is like cake batter, so can't be shaped like a regular bread dough.
-
I am fairly new to the forum too.
This is the only bread we use now. My nearly 4 yo son is gluten free. Is there a way to do this recipe without the egg? I know Jo from Quirky Cooking uses it without the eggs sometimes. Would the Chia eggs work? I haven't tried that yet.
I am finding with gluten free cooking that you replace the gluten in recipes and introduce eggs. We don't generally use eggs.
We have just started using Chia, too. I love it and use it with the sunflower and sesame seeds in the seed mixture. I also sprinkle a mixture of the 3 seeds on top of the bread. It is yummo :) :)
It is nice cold or toasted but it generally gets eaten fresh from the oven with Jo's (Quirky Cooking) Strawberry Jam, a winner in our home. The jam is also posted on the forum somewhere :)
-

I went to our local health food store and was looking at the potato flour/starch and it has preservative 222 in it which we looked up in the store and it is a :( :(. I just ended up buying the tapioca flour instead of the arrowroot because there was more in it. I would love to get it in bulk.
-

Hi Cookie1, could you give us some more information on the sourdough gluten free recipes? I would love to know how to make sourdough. Thanks
-

Hi Nighteyes. I just use basmati rice.
-
I've go this in the oven now, so fingers and toes crossed!
I haven't had any success with Cyndi's Artisan GF Bread or any others that I've tried, so I'm not holding out much hope. :-\
-
Superb! Excellent texture and taste. I'm going to try 'rolls' in muffin trays tomorrow. I've made this a couple of times now and it works every time.
-
We really love this recipe, Cyndi. Thank you. This one is topped with pumpkin seeds and black chia seeds. Mmmm.
-
I've tried this several times now with my Thermochef - first couple of times it was terrible! Lol
It was gritty, terrible texture and my daughter did not like it!
I tweaked it for the third one to accommodate for the TC, I'm about to do my fourth one now, so I'll do a write up if it works again of how I did it differently!
-
I made this bread today for the first time, it was yum! I got all the ingredients from Coles, (already had yeast & quinoa) rather than me spending an hour looking for all the stuff I ordered online, click & collect, too easy. ;D
-
Made this tonight and it turned out perfectly.
Does anyone know if I did this in a bread machine would it work. Too hot to have the oven on at the moment.
-
Ladies someone asked me what potato starch came as. Is it a powder? I'm not sure and I've had a crappy day. Thanks. Xxx
-
Yes it's a powder Cookie.Potato Starch (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potato_starch)
Sorry to hear you've had a miserable day .I hope it improves :-* :-*
-
Hope things get better, Cookie...
-
You are all too nice to me. We were first on the scene of a car accident. I have bored you with the details on 'what have you been doing today?'
