You girls are incorrigible.  It is just not worth drinking too much with what you have to go through that night and the next day - I learnt that a long time ago  ;)
some of us just never master that lesson JD  ;)

Loving this thread! It's taken me a while to get through 5 pages of it but worth every minute. Many, many chuckles and a couple of  "laugh out louds "(trying to keep them down as it's 1am)
I'm very lucky as my DH is easy to cook for and almost always thanks me for dinner. DS18 also says thank you if it's something he likes (meat + meat + meat works for him) but DS13 is testing boundaries at the moment and trying to get away with grunts- not working but he's still trying.
Some of the tales of ill mannered visitor boggled my mind. How can people be like that??

I've made this twice now and it is truly delicious. My first one leaked but I think I didn't take enough care sealing it. The second time I made sure it was well sealed and didn't leak. It it VERY bad for the hips and cholesterol but if shared with friends can't be toooo bad .....can it???

Sorry to hear of your loss DG. It doesn't matter whether you know it's coming or you don't - it doesn't make it any easier when it happens. Condolences to you and your family.

Looks fantastic JD. DH & I are considering replacing our small patch of back lawn with fake. He is sick of fighting the weeds and lawn beetles

Leftover KFC (Chookie"s recipe) for us. Think we'll make it into Hot & Spicy Chicken burgers with double bacon for the die hard meat lovers in my house. At least I'll be able to get some salad into the burger.

Welcome Suz76. When I got my TMX I thought my pantry would be emptier than it had been. Boy how wrong I was!! It actually filled up even more - just the type of foods are different. Happy cooking

Chit Chat / Re: Look what Target has ....
« on: March 15, 2012, 02:32:22 am »
I went into Target yesterday to have a look. What a piece of junk. The silver cog thing on the bottom that you can see in Gertbysea's photo is made from a cast alloy looking substance. That got the alarm bells ringing loudly as it's the bottom of the blade assembly. Could we get spares if it broke??. The lid was quite flimsy, a bit flexible and was difficult to lock in place. (That may become easier as it was used more) I couldn't see a spatula or varoma so can't comment on them. The box says the bowl is stainless steel but not the grade. The bowl was fairly light but ok.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I contemplated this machine for the caravan but after seeing it, wouldn't touch it with the proverbial 10' pole. I'm back to looking for a second hand TM 21, TM31 (or buying a Thermochef)
