How many shearer’s are in the team KAtie? Do they stay or go home each night?

My last mystery tour outing this week was a mystery right up until the end.  It was a hot, humid day with an expected storm so I really wanted to head down south to Victor Harbour or around there and definitely not up into the hills to Hahndorf where I seem to have been so many times of late.  We seemed to be heading for the hills, stopped at Mt Lofty Botanical Gardens for a coffee then went on to Hahndorf.  We stopped at Beerenberg but figured we would be going back into the town afterwards.  No, we continued on and ended up at Goolwa, close to Victor Harbour so were very pleased about that.  The driver did his best to keep the final location a secret, he did it well.  2 hours free time in Goolwa to go off on our own and have lunch somewhere.  It was very humid so we didn’t look in too many shops but found a nice cafe where a friend and I were happy to sit and enjoy a leisurely meal. I ordered a keto meal from the daily specials board which was perfect plus a nice glass of bubbly.  On the way home we stopped in Mt Compass at a pantry supply shop where I bought a punnet of blackberries, something not easy to find in my local supermarket.  A lovely day in spite of the humidity, the rain held off but is on its way I believe.  No more tours now until next Tuesday.

Love hearing about your mystery tours Judy .
Cookie DH decided that he would get a team from up north . They are machines . Four shearer’s 3 rouseabouts , about 10 plus DH !
We all had 3 boxes of 8 lemonade icy poles today !! Litres of water .
They stopped at 3 today as they needed to travel home for the weekend. But they are staying during the week so we have one guy who looks after them and cooks at night . DMIL has been cooking roasts and veg etc . DH has lots of jobs at the moment, even hooked up a washing machine for one of the girl rousies !
Back next week . My Bimby chocolate cake was put in the freezer for then .
Boiling hot even tonight .

Judy your mystery tours sound lovely,

Just the laundry this morning, far too hot to do anything other than the basics.

Your tour sounds such fun Judy. Goolwa is a fascinating spot.  DH and I spent some time there last time we came over.  Your blackberries sound delicious.

DD and I went for coffee this morning. Not many people out shopping.  Would you believe we saw 3 people with masks on! We don’t even have any confirmed cases of corona virus here as yet.

Nice area Judy.  When we were there some years ago, I remember quite a few second hand shops that were interesting to look through.  Glad you are enjoying your tours.

Had a lovely relaxing day today.  We've had  52.6mm of rain in the last 24 hours with drizzle on and off during today. After going out to have a look around for various things we decided to have lunch out.  Was okay, brought half home.  Was nice to have a day off cooking though.  :)

DD worked today and DH delivered doors, bumpers and goodness knows what to the people we sold the car to. I spent ages reading the paper, checking the iPad and generally fooling around. This afternoon I have been cooking, with the air con on.

We had a coffee run this morning. We had some Model A's, 2 Mustangs and a convertible of some sort. It was fun. We have a Model A one on Thursday.

The burgundy Mustang belongs to a Model A owner.  DD’s is a 1966 model and his is about 2018\19 model.

Loved catching up on all the news. Thanks to all. Cookie , I can understand your DD wanting to study.  Even at my age I still get a twitch to take a course. I think what I really should do is go to the local Primary School once a week and listen to the littlies read.
KAtie, I would have loved to cook for the Shearers.  My sister married a farmer and refused to cook for the shearers.  I couldn’t believe it.
Judy, you are having a lot of fun on your bus tours, go for it.
Cookie, no more cars.  I knew a man who had a passion for Persian carpets. He lived in a flat and had to stack them on top of each other. Don’t let this happen. ;D
CC, you are so lucky to get fresh veggies from your DS.

It’s lovely to have you back posting, the shearer’s would have loved you cooking for them.
Cookie, DD’s Mustang looks every bit as good as the maroon one.
