Gracias,  another great recipe.  I can taste the creamy soup and really believe that is one thing that the TMX does really well.  It manages to blend things so they really are creamy and smooth.

I finally got around to making this recipe for lunch today - so easy and tasty too :P :P  Going to serve it as a first course for dinner guests next weekend - something different for a change.  Thanks for the recipe.

Oh JD, tell us the whole menu for the occasion! Main course and dessert, how about a cocktail too? Have seen a recipe for Sangria somewhere, anyone fancy that? Will check it out now!

I love having this couple to a meal but the husband is a very fussy eater and it is a nightmare to feed him.  Can't do anything with fish, sauces, cheese and lots of other no-go stuff.  I wanted to do the Thai chilli chicken but when I suggested that or the beef in beer, he chose the beef in beer so may as well give him something he likes aye :P  Toss up for dessert between banoffee pie or the apricot slice with custard (which I could make right before their eyes and impress them ;D ;D) Would like to make some bread too but have to work on that during the coming week to see if I can get it down pat.  Margaritas for us girls are on the cards too - it will be 2 guys at the table who don't drink! Oh what a strange world we live in.

Sounds delicious! They will be soooo impressed especially making the custard in front of them ;) ;) ;)
Try the bread, my DD has bought me the new bread book by THX for mothers day, so am hoping this week to try some more as I have only made the spelt bread which is delicious but more for breakfast or a snack rather than a side with dinner, if I have any huge successes I will let you know!

Yes, it looks lovely, with step by step photos on how to make croissants.
It talks alot about masa madre. ??? ??? ??? Now what is that it English? It seems to be some sort of live yeast that you make and then keep alive for years to come :o :o :o Apparently some bakeries boast their masa madre is over 100 years old! :o :o :o :o
You have to make the masa madre the day before and then when you use some of it the next day in the recipe that you are making, you just top up the masa madre and you have it for tomorrows bread all ready!!!! :o :o :o :o
Have you ever heard of this process and what is it called in English? ??? ??? ??? ???

Yes, there are various names but sourdough starter would be the most common.

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sourdough and http://sourdough.com/

There are so many starter recipes - great to get some from a friend (or local baker?)

The soup was lovely but it gave us so much flatulence ;D ;D ;D ;D that I decided I had better not serve it up to visitors.  Then to top it off, they rang to say they are sick so I don't even have to think about food for guests this weekend now.
