Marina, how have you coped?  Couldn’t you sneak up. ? Don’t spoil them too much with your goodies, they will do a go slow.
Lost the internet this afternoon.
I hadn't thought of that, Chookie, I'll think about that ... perhaps my oven will be over-taxed this weekend  ;)

We have had a very busy few days. On Tuesday we popped down to Busselton. We have been sort of looking down there for a nice holiday house for a while. We saw one online so arranged to see through it. It was on 1650 square metres and was a 4 by 2.  A lovely big shed for DH and:lots more. When we saw it we loved it. Then we had a very good look before making an offer. We found that the ceiling was beginning to come down in one corner of the family/games room. Then we noticed it in a couple of the bedrooms. So very disappointing.
There is no major rush and we have been looking for a couple of years off and on.

Coffee with car club yesterday and coffee/lunch with friends today.

Cookie, that sounds very exciting.  We looked , on and off ,for 10 years,  before we bought Cherokee. It was initially our weekender.
Ballarat is in the middle of a ‘foodie’ boom.  It is very much a Cafe town. Yesterday we tried a new Cafe called Drive. Coffee very good but could be a bit more adventurous with menu. I like to try something that we don’t have at home.
The new little chooks have started to lay.  6 eggs yesterday.

What a shame cookie, it sounds as if it will be hard to sell if they don’t fix the ceiling problems.  Keep looking, you’ll find one eventually.
Ballarat had the biggest foodie of all move into their city Chookie, you must be in food heaven living there.

Shame about the house, Cookie, but it pays to have a good look over a prospective place before you commit to anything.

The other day we went to the Bendigo art Gallery for the Tudors to Windsor exhibition, it was great , DH enjoyed it too , DS didn’t mind it . Day trip we had lunch at Harvest just on the other side of the gallery. Yum stuffed zucchini flowers with a drizzle of honey . Home late another big day .
DS orthotics were ready the next day ,so dash to get them and see DM . Went to a book launch that night of a friend . The Postmistress by Alison Stuart ! Caught up with old friends , frezzing out at night .
Now we have been home yet again rather tiered but the little puppy is keeping us DS busy ..soon I will be in charge when school goes back .

French Bastille Day.  Must go out and have French pastries for breakfast. We love watching the Le Tour.  Have in the past visited many of the lovely French towns.
Must cook something French for Dinner.
Judy, we are trying the coffee in lots of the new Cafes. When we have a meal, if good, I write a review for Tripadvisor.  Rals Coffee at home is better than most.

‘Crunching’, that sounds painful Katie, did you mean crutching?

It may be so Judy.  :) :) :) :) Much less painful than the muelsing they used to do years ago. I used to feel so sorry for the sheep.

This morning I have been doing MIL's annual return.

Yesterday ,I spent an enjoyable time searching for a recipe.  We bought a lovely small almond cake , topped with an apricot and clear glaze, from the French bakery.  I would like to make some.  I searched the internet and then some French cook books. Most Almond cake/ tart recipes have a pastry case, this one didn’t.  I think the Apricot was from a tin.

It sounds lovely Chookie.

I am baking  today and may get brave and put MIL's figures together to see if they balance. I am stupid as I get quite nervous when I put it all together, as I know if it doesn't balance to within about $10 I need to look through it all for mistakes. This is the 10th year, I was hoping that they would trust us by now!! I guess with DH's brother dying it is a complete new chapter, now it is only him.
