I spent a big day in town trying to find warm clothing for my youngest who is off to Canada next week for a student exchange. Jeans, jumpers, and new bathers (?) found eventually. This time next week she'll be gone. *sob* :'(

Judy those potato curls look great, perhaps we should begin a thread ..............."maddy inspired purchases " - many DH's would probably find a more colourful title.  :D  :D

I never thought of using an apple peeler for potatoes. Is it a hastle to get them out and use them?

Not at all Cookie, that's what I did to show the potato peeled but not sliced.  Mind you, when I first received it I used to have to get DH to work it out for me as I couldn't but once the penny drops, it is dead easy and not a problem to just rinse under the tap.

I imagine it is going to be a very emotional parting for you both Amanda but she will benefit greatly from the exchange program and it is an opportunity not to be missed.  Just think of the fun you two will have when you go over to bring her back.  Your life is rather hectic at the moment with the kids - hope your DS enjoyed his 21st celebrations.

The photo I posted was one of maddy's meals - at the time I asked her what that was on the left-hand side of the plate and she explained how she made the potato twirls or whatever they are called.  Yes, she did bake them in the oven and I have done the same thing.
