Chit Chat / aioli, help please
« on: April 05, 2014, 06:49:15 am »
Hi everyone,
A couple of months ago i found a aioli recipe off this site (maybe from Tenina) and it was fantastic.  I tried to find it today and couldn't find it.  I tried the following recipe:

•  2 cloves of garlic, peeled
•  1egg
•  1 egg yolk
•  1 tbsp. lemon juice
•  ½ tsp. salt
•  300g vegetable oil, pre-measured
Instructions:
1.  Place garlic in TM bowl; mince for 5 seconds at speed 7; scrape down the sides of the bowl
2.  Place egg, egg yolk, lemon juice, and salt into the TM bowl; blend for 45 seconds on speed 7 while
slowly pouring oil onto the lid without removing the TM cup
3.  Scrape down the sides of the bowl using the spatula; store covered in refrigerator until ready to use
Note: Raw eggs are used in this recipe.

and it didn't work (I tried it 3 times and it failed!  ???) i did substitute vinegar for lemon juice because i didn't have any lemons on hand.
Does anybody have a good recipe??? I think the one I used had one egg in it (the above one has 1 1/2 eggs)
Thanks, Natalia

H everyone, I bought Tenina's spin a dinner app and I am able to access it on my iPhone, I also bought my way of cooking app ( called thermomix hd) and I have to pay for it again on my iPhone.  I also bought quick fix in the thermomix from iBooks and once again I have to pay for it again if I want it on my iPhone.  Am I doing something wrong? I thought that if you bought an app or book from apple you were able to access it from any apple device that you own......?
Thanks for your thoughts, Natalia

Hi everyone,
I have been looking at Tenina's cookbooks and drooling.  I also like the look of quick fix in the tmx.  I can't buy all of these lovely books.
Could you pleas tell me what has been your favourite tmx cookbook and why.  I am hoping that your recommendations will help me decide.
Thanks for your thoughts, Natalia

« on: September 30, 2012, 08:45:29 am »
Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone has frozen unami paste before.  I don't think I could use it all in 3 weeks.  Also can you buy Dulse sea vegetable from  the local supermarket (in the herb section...??) thanks, Natalia

HI, just wondering if anyone has made castor sugar.  If so how long do you mill it for (I don't want icing sugar) also do you use normal white sugar or raw sugar, thanks, Natalia

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / edc yogurt
« on: June 14, 2012, 07:30:47 am »
Hi everyone, I tried the edc yogurt last night.  I added some sugar at the start as we don't really like it a la natural.  It was quite good for a first effort.  It was a little runny and not thick and creamy as the recipie states.  I put it into the thermoserver (after I had put hot water into it for a few minutes.
Any ideas on how to improve my yogurt?  Has anyone tried to make 2litres at once, did you have to cook it longer or anything else differently?  Our household consists of 6 yogurt lovers (for this reason I don't usually buy the store yogurt as 1kg only lasts 1 day if I ration it).
Thanks for your thoughts, Natalia

Hi everyone, I have noticed in the bread section that 3 different flours are used: plain, baker's and bread flour.  I was just wondering what the difference between these flours are?  Could I just substitute plain flour in these recipes or is the type of flour very important in breads and doughs? Thanks, Natalia

Introduce Yourself / new user
« on: April 15, 2012, 03:32:33 am »
Hi everyone, I bought tnx off e-bay just recently (there are a few second hand ones for sale, I don't know why anyone would want to sell one, they look so good!). I am now waiting impatiently for it to arrive.  I am thinking of having a demo just to learn how to use it.  My tnx doesn't come with the everyday cookbook.  I have looked on the tnx site and they don't sell it. Does anyone know where I can buy one from?
We I've on the south coast if NSW, and have 4 children. I am really looking forward to saving time with my tmx and eating more healthily. I especially like the look of the soever's (i am an icecreamaholic)
I am also looking forward to navigate this sight and learning from all of you, thanks, Natalia.
