We've had an egg shortage here for about 12 months or more. I don't really understand why, as we have lots of producers here.

Many thanks for the lovely comments about our pie tasting.
Don’t know why the chooks are still laying. Most unusual for this time of the year. We will not be able to take the chooks with us when we downsize. It will be the first time in 50 years that we won’t have chooks. One of the offers for our house, ( which we refused) included the chooks.
Judy, thanks for passing on the comments about the pie tasting. Very comforting  to have that support.

My pleasure Chookie, the Forumfesters are a special group of ladies we were lucky enough to holiday with several times and they care deeply about the well-being of their group.

We certainly do Judy. We may be scattered but that makes no difference.

We had to say goodbye to one of our chooks in the last few days . Hopefully the others will keep laying . We have been buying eggs every few weeks , DS eats a lot of them when home . It’s always been open house on eggs ,they are our go to for a filling breakfast or a lazy quick meal .
Mind you the kittens are trying to get in when I feed the chooks that is not going to be a good outcome in the long run .

My MIL bought chooks for the kids many years ago when we lived on a 10 acre farm block.  I think they must have been pretty old as we spent more on food for them and buying eggs  but the kids loved them.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I only went to the Melbourne forumfest, but it was great fun.  Loads of people came for it.

That was our last one unfortunately Marina. They’ve had 4 all up and I only missed the WA one, was all ready to go and DH ended up in hospital the day before I was due to fly out.

I remember that we rang you Judy, I think we were out on the balcony at Gracetown. I missed the Adelaide one when CC came over from the UK. We were on the Birdsville track.

Yes that was such a long time ago cookie but it was so nice that you were thinking of me and also to send a goodie bag back home to me too. Lovely memories of the ones we did go to.

Morning all.
The Forum Fests were such good fun. Such nice people with no politics. Just united through one small machine and into sharing. What could be better. We are still sharing!
Good news on our home selling/ buying. We haven’t sold yet but we have bought a new home. It is 2 stories but we are able to put a lift in. It is brand new and part of a new estate in Ballarat, Insignia. Part of Alfredton. The house is opposite a wetland and park with plenty to see.

4 months ago, almost to the day, RAL was operated on and not expected to survive. Life has changed drastically for us and downsizing is difficult as well as all the Cancer treatment and tests. However we move on and RAL is responding well to the Chemo but it is not nice what it does to the mind and body.
We cannot thank our Forum friends enough for their support. If any need a holiday in Ballarat, we will have one spare bedroom and lots of good Thermo food. And a very quiet life style. Probably from next year. We can take possession in mid November but will need to set things up. Council regulations say no Pigs or chickens. Ral said he will miss the Pigs ??? and I will certainly miss the chooks.

Exciting news to wake up to Chookie, such a busy time ahead and I hope it all runs smoothly for you. I can see you spending more time than ever in the kitchen of your new home with so much less outside work to do. Then there’s the quality time you and Ral can spend together as well, much more time to go on those short drives you really like. All the best dear friend.
