I have started  The Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling and I do not think I can put it down.  I need to finish another book on Kindle first but. I started this on my iPad. What to do? I still have not finished The Weekend Australian either.  Oh dear eeny meeny

Now reading a Dick Francis  The Danger, I picked it  up in an op shop on my travels, good read I have read a lot of his, always involves horse  racing as he was a champion jockey in UK, just in case your not familiar with him

I've read a couple of. His books Rainbow but as I'm not really interested in horses I haven't read any more. They are good though.

I am reading an author not mentioned in this thread yet - Stay Close by Harlan Coben. If you like Lee Child you will like Harlan Coben. I have just finished Joanna Trollope's A Soldiers Wife - excellent read. I read both paper and kindle books. Not to forget recipe books and this forum.

Gert, I'm interested to know what you think of JK Rowling's new book. I'm looking forward to watching the interview on iview when we get back home.
I thought I'd get lots of reading done on our long trip, but I just enjoyed looking at the changing scenery out of the window   The only book I read was "the Snowman " by Jo Nesbro, translated into English. I like reading books set in scandanavian countries.

There is also a fairly new Nesbo book after you have read the first three.

I love Joanna  Trollope . Can't remember reading the Soldiers wife yet buti may have it on Kindle.Sadly  as soon as I read a book I absolutely forget it. Better download  it.


Think I have read all of  Cobens books.

There is a new James Patterson Book out set in Australia.  Private OZ. must get it.

OMG Amy  read something just for fun sometimes. They all sound as boring as dog poo.

You are all going to love the beautiful written novel The Vacancy by JK Rowlings.  It is such a pleasure to read a well written book after reading so much pulp fiction.


 I devoured the HarryPotter books in one session each but I am savouring this book and rewarding myself a chapter  at a time as I do not  want it to go to fast.

This is a real adult novel with so many levels . Chookie and cookie you must read it.  Pain and pathos. Laughter and  frivolity. charm and angst. Our English members will really appreciate the  small town venue. Anyone interested in local politics will be delighted and saddened.
For school teachers this is a must. The book is light  and dark.  I am loving it . Worth every penny.

Gert you have go to stop reading crapola is my new mantra.
