Yay my thermomix arrived this morning!!It's 46 here today so the first thing I will make will be a sorbet in the next hour :-)(was planning on hummus too but got no garlic and to hot to drag a 2 year old and a 4 month old to the shop just for garlic)
What was the first thing you made ??

wow! what a morning to start cooking !!

Congratulations on your new kitchen buddy, fstt. Yes, a sorbet would fit the bill today! When it cools down a bit, I'd suggest making the vegetable stock - mainly because you're going to be needing it in a lot of recipes you'll be trying. Otherwise, smoothies, custards - and more sorbets!

My first thing was the Vegie stock too. At least the thermomix doesn't heat up the kitchen too much.

My first thing was potato soup. Next was the vegie stock and then I bravely converted my favourite anzac biscuit recipe.

I made sorbet (with the consultant so that had to work!), potato cakes (failure - recipe no good), mashed potato (1st attempt not bad but not that good either), custard (yay, success), Porridge (too thick for my liking), Apricot chicken risotto (another one not to my taste), pumpkin soup (not as good as my recipe), mayonnaise (can't remember how that turned out) Coleslaw (bit over processed 1st time), veg stock concentrate (success). I had a terrible start and lost interest in it until I found this forum when finally I had success with most things I did and now over 4 years later, I rarely have a failure and try anything

Pumpkin soup, mushroom risotto and veg stock. Like Judy pumpkin soup not as good as mine, risotto too runny and stock too salty and then I found the forum and have had success after success

I've made a sorbet and the no fail cupcakes from here in the cake section and it all came out perfect! Making a shoppinglist of all the yummy things I will make in the next few days,stock will be one of them as I've noticed a lot of people on here mentioned the stock :-)

I made lemon butter and then rock cakes. Both were edc recipes and we enjoyed them very much.

My thermothingy arrived while I was recovering from a nasty bout of notifiable food poisoning so I started pretty slowly!
