Apple & Cinnamon Pancakes from Quick Fix in the TMX page 4
« on: January 16, 2012, 08:24:22 am »
This is the first recipe in the book under breakfasts but is something you can have anytime.  This simple & quick recipe is for 2 people but DH and I shared 1 as they are the size of a small dinner plate.  For breakfast this would be fine but not for dessert after the evening meal. Served with ice-cream and drizzled with honey, they were delicious.

enjoyed these with the family for Sunday breakfast, followed with the Bircher Muesli. The apple and cinnamon flavour is a delicous change to banana. mmn, very nice.

We had these this morning for breakfast.  Very quick and easy to make.
Didn't have any creme fraiche to serve them with, so we used a little maple syrup.
Delicious (but very filling)

Made these for breakfast on the weekend.  As others have said, they are very easy to make and taste good but they are quite a thick and dry pancake compared to some recipes.  IMO they definitely need the moisture of the creme fraiche.

As they were ready before everyone was awake, I left them in the oven on a very low temp for about 10 minutes after they had finished cooking.  The smell of the oven afterwards was divine!

Very simple recipe. Instead of 2 pancakes, I made 4 smaller ones. The texture was tender and moist inside. Really scrumptious with vanilla ice cream and maple syrup on top  :) 5/5 from me.

We had breakfast for dinner tonight and I whipped these up for the boys.

I love the flavour but I have to agree with asha that they were a little dry for me.  I know that rara's pancake recipe uses 50g of butter so I think I might try adding a small amount next time to see if it moistens them up a little.

I tried these for the first time yesterday and they were nice but needed the maple syrup.  I didn't have any creme fraiche so didn't use. They seemed quite a thick pancake too, so if you like a thin pancake you may want oto add a little milk. I think next time I will whizz the apple for a little longer (so the skin is broken up a little more), add some auger or maple syrup to the mixture and omit drizzling on them after.  Overall quite nice

We didn't like these - found them too dry and lacking in flavour. It needed some sugar and butter I think, but of course that would make them not as healthy. Personally we much prefer Rara's recipe.

I added 1.5 tsp of sugar to bring out the flavours. Other than that, it's quite moist.its a healthy version I guess, with no butter and sugar.

I found these to be a little heavy for our liking....in saying that its possible the flour is to blame...I've found Malaysian flour to be a bit different...it needed the toppings of maple syrup/honey and a added a don of butter for moisture...

Hubby wanted pancakes for breakfast on this long weekend so I thought I'd give these a whirl. I added a total of 70g extra milk after reading the reviews on here and they turned out really lovely. We didn't have creme fraiche so just had them with maple syrup.

As a result of adding the milk I was able to make 6 smaller pancakes but stuffed up the first two with flipping and also burning them.

So I would recommend adding the extra milk to make them lighter and fluffier.
