I wouldn't normally use custard powder but it works for this slice and gives it that shop bought vanilla slice taste that has everyone reminising when they taste it.
Made this again yesterday, added some lemon juice to the passion fruit icing , yum.

Today I have made chicken and sweet corn soup, basic bread rolls from the edc and pumpkin and feta risotto. Just going to cook some rice now to freeze with leftover guiness stew for dh to take to work, then will probably make caramel custard or vanilla slice, just because I can lol.
Last night I made mulled wine , it was a recipe from the uk thermie site and was delicious. It said you can freeze leftovers and make a rather yummy adult sorbet which is what I think I shall do!

It's going great thanks ! Have been getting really favourable feedback and I could not do what I do without thermalina as I am on my own in there 3 days a week. Hits with the kids are muffins and thermie custard and I do a hot meal special each week (this week it will be honey mustard chicken from this forum, the kids and teachers also go nuts for quirky jos fried rice and the creamy pasta from the edc) I also do a special meal for the teachers each Wed. I make my own sausage rolls which are very popular too. Oh and they love the edc pikelets!
Thanks for asking :)

This is a great recipe  ;D thanks for posting it! Has anyone else tried it? It's very easy and creates a thick and yummy vanilla slice.  The only different thing I did was I put the sugar, coenflour and custard powder on speed9 for 20 sec before proceeding with the rest of the recipe, and put some passion fruit pulp on my icing .

Main Dishes / Re: Butter Chicken & Tikka Paste
« on: May 22, 2012, 09:22:50 pm »
Thank you for a great recipe! I have been on a bit of a search lately for the perfect butter chicken and I think I have found it! The edc one and a few others I have tried have been very lacking, so this is very exciting :)
FYI for those who are not chilli fans, or if you have little ones or cooking for others and not sure if they want chillis, I added NO green chillis and only the trendiest amount of dried red chillis to the tikka paste and it's very delicious still. I also doubled the amont of chicken and there is still a huge amount of sauce .
