Last night was Bacon, Leek & Tomato risotto.  Tonight will be curried chicken.

We had risotto too. However, it was a roundabout journey.
Yesterday I made a very runny, thin cream of celery soup for DH. He wasn't very impressed with it as a soup, and I still had about 1 litre left and was wondering what to do with it as I hate wasting food. He suggested that it would made a good base for a risotto, so tonight I used the soup as the liquid in a garlic prawn and fish risotto. It was a good suggestion as the risotto was delicious.

I cooked a heap of veggies and some chicken in the Varoma. Put them into a casserole dish and poured a cheese sauce with grain mustard in over them. I put panko breadcrumbs on the top and popped it into the oven for a while. It was lovely.

I am a bit ashamed to say it was the remains of the meat from a lamb roast in a jar of curry sauce plus some frozen okra. DH had a hip replacement today and by the time I got back from the hospital I couldn't be bothered doing much.

We have days like that Bonsai, you went to more trouble than I usually do though    I hope your DH's rehab goes well and he is up and about very soon.

I had to go from the nursing home to DD's for my GD's concert tonight so no time to eat here.  They didn't either so we ended up buying KFC (shock, horror - I can't remember when I last did that) at 8.30 on the way back to their place.

Thanks Judy and Bedlam. Nurses had him up and walking 4 hours after surgery! I think he was a lot happier after they relented and agreed that he could have dinner instead of jelly and clear soup.
