Regional Flavours, Brisbane
« on: July 20, 2013, 11:59:07 am »
Did anyone go today or is anyone going tomorrow?

I went today and learnt some new things...

I'm in love with Annabel Langbein - have been for a few years and have most of her recipe books.. I saw her in the flesh today and it was amazing. Her food is so yummy and I love her attitude towards being a cook not a chef. Cooking is fun and should be rewarded with table conversation.

Also, a chef from the Sunshine Coast, Andrew Strange turned up with his thermomix in tow to make a beef rendang. It smelt Devine! He only used it to pulse the spices.

I enjoyed my day anyhow... did anyone else?

Annabelle Langbein is one of my favourites, too! Have several of her books. Would've been lovely to see her in person!

I think she is a refreshing type of cook and not pretentious at all.
Isn't her house and garden in Wanaka amazing?

I have seen her books but must admit that I haven't looked at them too closely.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

The christmas cake I made last year, was converted from one of her recipes..
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.
