Chit Chat / Re: THE SHOPPING THREAD :-)
« on: June 01, 2013, 04:04:13 am »
Every time I go to Sydney I'm in T2. Can hardly wait until it opens in Cairns. I hope I'm not in there every weekend. I have enough different teas and not enough time to drink it all. I'm disappointed they didn't make the café with it. I wanted to buy the franchise, but obviously someone beat me to it.

I was just looking at houses for sale in cairns and a picture of a kitchen, low and behold had a thermomix. Funny seeing them around. I went into a café the other day and you can see through the door to the kitchen and sure enough a thermomix sitting on the bench.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread. (like many people I imagine) I've only had my thermo for about 2 months so I can't input. Can you give me advice on what overloading the blades could look like, sound like?

I find the lack of customer support very disappointing for the price of the machine and I too would kick up a big stink about the blades being a consumable item. They are steel.

I'm watching this with interest.  >:(

I'm making this for dinner now... love how the smell goes through the house.

Also making eggplant stew. Will post my variations later with report on taste.

People pay a fortune for tmx books on eBay!
I've noticed that. Not sure what to do. I think I'll leave it a while and see if someone wants to swap first.

Chit Chat / do you want full steam ahead?

Hi,

I got the full steam ahead book but it has a lot of meat dishes in it. We are mostly vegetarian so it's not really any benefit to me.

I would like to purchase the Indian cookbook and wondered if anyone would like to do a swap?

I guess I could sell it on eBay too?

I must look on here more.

No, I bought it from another Jo, sight unseen, then she quit straight away.

Jo ( Quirky cooking) did my varoma demo. ( it took us 12 months though).

I have 2 thermo styles machines, so lots of cooking.

Wow two thermo machines... yes you must do a heap of cooking. Only hubby and I so I don't have to do that much cooking.

Where is your shop?

Hello, I too live in Cairns and have TOTALLY changed the way I eat since owning a Thermomix. If you ever want to catch up and swap ideas and recipes let me know. Cheers.

I'm happy with a catch up.

Hi  ;D

I didn't think anyone else would reply to this post and so I haven't looked at it again until now and wow it's on it's 2nd page!

I have never noticed anyone in cairns central selling thermies. I probably wouldn't have looked anyway because I'm always in a hurry to get out of there.

Those commenting on my eczema, I didn't really cure it myself or with thermie. It just so happened that I treated it with cream and it went away and I think my diet helped. That was before thermie. But I bought thermie to help with the healthy diet of less processed, preservative free, additive free and everything free (lol) eating. ;) but because I went and talked about it, I have since noticed some little spots coming back. How annoying...

It's good to see so many people from around the north. Obbie did you buy your thermie from Jo?

Hi all,

Obviously I'm new here. I've had my thermie for about two weeks now. Love it!

I've been getting into health a lot more as I think I had Candida through eczema. I haven't had eczema since I was a kid and the thought of it again was horrifying me. I went to the dermatologist and well that was a waste of money. I read lots on the internet and figured it out by the symptoms I had. I've cut back my sugar intake and less wheat. I love wheat and am trying to work myself to a wheat free diet. I've since had no eczema.

I've looked at Jo's quirky cooking page all too many times. A true inspiration.

So hi everyone.  ;D
