Traditional SD Waffle recipes state that you have to develop the spong over night and then next day add egg and flavourings . THIS IS NOT NECESSARY.
I have just made SD Waffles with starter straight from fridge, used the recipe for SD crumpets plus an egg.
These are the crispest waffles I have made.

Very nice Chookie.

There is so much rubbish written about SD that it makes you wonder if the cooks/ bakers really know what they are dealing with.
Good way to use up that extra SD when you feed it.
Think it would also work for pancakes.

They look delicious Chookie. I made some vanilla icecream before we left so I will give these a try to have with it. I have lento of SD starter in the fridge.

Thanks Chookie for sharing another wonderful SD recipe, this summer, I have decided to start another SD starter as I have started really love the taste of SD in comparison to normal bread..

My pleasure, Thermilover.
