Introduce Yourself / Re: New to Themomix and struggling a bit

Still too chicken to ring and ask. I actually made some Cape Seed Loaf yesterday and put it in a lidded bread tin. It was a tiny bit too much and literally 'crept' out of the gap between the lid and base. It was all wavy and very thin. Quite interesting to see.

I was disappointed that there wasn't a stand at the Perth show. Bit I guess they are getting enough business anyway and are probably very busy.

I wouldn't be without my carry bag, it's just perfect for lugging everything around. I feel that it's quite safe in the caravan too and not upsetting the scales.

The thought of a whole salmon is just amazing. It is something we don't have very often as it's over $30/Kg. The occasional small piece made into a quiche or something similar.
I hope you both really enjoy them.

I must hang my head in shame yet again. I posted this early this morning and the book is Lunch Box and After School Ideas not Budget Busters. DD has been on the computer all day (it is hers!) doing some work for her Masters so I didn't have the heart to try and kick her off.

I made the recipe exactly as per the book. After making them I realised that any filling at all would be suitable to put in these. They could be made to use up leftovers of casseroles etc, or with fruit fillings. Would be very handy to have in the freezer for lunch boxes or that quick snack.

I would give these 4.5/5

I will definitely be making them again.

No yours sounds fine Judy. It simply has some curry paste added to it and I would like to try and make some paneer and add that. When we were in Singapore we tasted a lovely dish that seemed to be creamed spinach, paneer and a curry taste. Will see how I go.
Big thank you. :-*

Well done Judy and her trusty TMX. I loved reading your description, it even sounded hurried. Hopefully you will be able to sit down and have a breather one day soon.

I was going out with friends this week and then decided that I would invite them here instead as there are different reasons why some eat totally different things. We're having soup, salads and sorbet. All quick easy things and with a little  fermented grape juice thrown in.
I thought we would have a chickpea soup with a simple garlic and parsley pull apart, beetroot salad, coleslaw and broccoli salad and then strawberry foam afterwards. One friend can only have liquids and others like to watch their weight. So this will be very simple with basically no main meal or pre lunch nibbles.  Later we could have a mango sorbet as I'm sure that's the main reason for them coming here!!!!

Today I've made strawberry jam, cape seed bread and for dinner we're having pizza pockets from the BB cookbook.

Oh she is lovely. We used to ride our motorbikes down Cable Beach in the wet. I haven't been back for about 18 months, I'm getting Broome sick.
 :( :( :(
Have fun with your TMX Kristie.

Welcome Heidi. What a fantastic way to get some use from a TMX. I wonder how you will feel about giving it back. Could you say 'the dog ate it' or something similar?

Inherit the TMX Gretchen. OMG.

To be honest we're seriously thinking of buying DD one when she builds her house and shifts. She has now realised that she doesn't want to take the rice cooker or stick blender and other assorted gadgets.

I agree with everyone about how this forum helps. I would have persevered because of the cost but it would have taken me longer.
I shared the 5 seed bread the other day and this lady was going to make it in her breadmaker as she 'is too old to adjust to learning TMX cooking". I'm dying to know if it rose out of the container into the breadmaker but I'm too scared to ask. :-\

« on: October 03, 2009, 06:21:57 am »
Would anyone have the creamed spinach recipe from the UK EDC please?
I want to make a recipe in the new Indian book and I need to make this first.
Thanks. :-* :-*
