Title: Hello from Brisbane, Australia
Post by: Ayla on March 13, 2009, 09:17:04 am
Hi everyone, I'm in Brissie as the title says and I'll be getting my thermomix next week, I'm very excited ;D I am a mother to beautiful 18mth old little boy, and married to a soldier. I'm a sahm plus I'm a birthworker (I'm studying to become a homebirth doula (my son was born at home) as well as studying to be a breastfeeding counsellor), I recognise a couple of names from Joyous Birth *waves* Um, I think that's about it in a nutshell. See you around the boards ;)

Welcome from Perth Ayla.
Do you and your husband travel around Australia with his work or are you permanently based in Brisbane?

We're Brisbanites and hubby joined in 2005 and our first posting was to Brisbane so we've been pretty lucky so far :D

I was hoping to hear from my TMX contact tonight to say that it has arrived but alas, no. Maybe tomorrow. I can't stop thinking about it, I just want it NOW, lol.

We went out last night to get ingredients for a number of things we want to do, but ended up just making the mushroom risotto (with semi dried tomatoes and bacon added), it was so quick and easy and delicious! I have to go out soon to my mothers group so I'm going to whizz up the herb and garlic dip to take along ;D

Go Ayla, tweaking your first recipe - you have learnt a lot already 8). Sounds like hubby is going to get involved in the cooking too.

Lol oh yeah my hubby is totally into it. He's already talked it up at work and took a brochure to a workmate who was interested. I found it amusing to envision two Army blokes raving on about a kitchen appliance :D

it has real man appeal!  :D i think it must the whole design thing - it's not some flimsy plastic thing that seems like it's just for doing girly things ;)

I find it interesting that guys really seem to be into the TMX. Perhaps because it's so eay to use, I don't know. ??? ???

You could be right. My DH likes things that he can see how they work. Hence he HATES computers. He is a lover of cars and is hoping to get a 1928 Model A Ford to restore any day. Dirt and rust everywhere.

That will keep him out of trouble and you can spend more time in the kitchen and on the forum ;D

Nice to see you back Ayla, you have never been far from my mind and I've really missed your postings.  So much has happened on this forum since you were last an active member (but then again maybe you have been keeping an eye on it but just not contributing) and you will certainly notice how the numbers have grown and all the lovely new recipes.  Let us know how you have been going with your machine.
