welovefood (don't we all ;)) if you haven't been to a cooking class before I would certainly go to one.  In Adelaide we have a lot of basic cooking demos and I won't go to those anymore as they are too basic once you have had your TMX as long as me but if there is something different or a guest demonstrator (like Nico) I will go if I haven't seen them before.  Once is enough for me but some people go to them all.  Recipe books - I used to buy them all but don't now as most of my meals come off the forum or from my own conversions. I don't have a favourite recipe book. People can lose weight, even with a TMX.  Bron in Spain did.

Hi and welcome SC - you are one lucky Mum to have children who appreciate your good cooking.  From what I have heard of this book, the recipes aren't too hot so if you have adventurous kids just go for it.  I once made some chilli oil down at DD's place.  I had planted the chilli plant along with herbs etc for her (I seem to do this in every house she has) and the bush was covered in little red chillis.  Found a recipe for making this oil then the following week, whilst babysitting, I made her a chicken risotto.  The only oil I could find in the cupboard was the chilli oil so I used a small amount of that. She rang me later to tell me the risotto was delicious and what did I put in it.  I told her everything but forgot about the chilli oil until she said that my then 2 yr old GD said it was too spicy.  That reminded me of the oil I had used.

Hi Sunny, welcome to the forum.  Low fat options - I always used to cook that way but since the TMX came into my kitchen I just go with the flow of the recipe and have never used so much cream or butter in my cooking.  Sugar is another thing, I now buy 2 packets at a time so that I don't run out.  Luckily my weight is staying pretty stable though and at my age, who cares :-)) :-))  I do use low fat milk and low fat cheese though, guess it helps a bit.  Tomato based dishes are usually low fat options.

Just to prove I am the dumbest computer person on this forum - I discovered I was turning off the wrong switch at the wall, there are so many cords down there :-)) :-)) :-))  All is well now and I have printed out this lovely recipe isi.
Gretchen - quick thinking by you probably saved that chap his job. Well done. You do get to chat about cricket a lot but now we have the Indian cookbook, maybe we can chat about food instead ;) ;)

Hi Tanya, I am so glad you ended up with the TM21.  Bet it got a shock when you turned it on :o :o  I suppose you converting TM31 recipes for the TM21 is as easy as us converting normal stovetop recipes into TMX recipes. Welcome to our forum.

Hi bigmtg, a big welcome to you and I too am looking forward to some of your Mexican recipes.  My SIL is a big Mexican food fan (of the Australian unauthentic kind anyway) and I would love some recipes to give to DD to cook for him. I don't mind a bit of Mexican myself  ;) ;) ;)  We are getting some wonderful recipes from our overseas members these days and this forum is benefitting hugely from it. It is going to become the biggest cookbook in the world the way we are going ;D ;D  Thank you for joining us.

I love the look of them too isi. Can't print them out at the moment as we had a power failure for a very short time and now the stupid printer has had flashing lights all over it for the past 5 hours and won't turn off even if I pull the plug out.  Have emailed technical people at HP, now have to wait for goodness knows how long.

Hi there Pam, welcome to the forum.  We have lots of people on here with intolerances and they are doing fine with the recipes. Hope you can expand your choices now - let us know what you have tried, your successes and failures and we will see if we can offer any advice.

Hi Rainbow, welcome to the forum.  We loved Albany when our ship stopped there for a day in '08 - I said at the time 'I could live here'.  Have fun with your TMX.

This book is sounding more interesting each time you post something andie - you must do something about it before it is too late (sorry!).  Cook by day and write by night is my suggestion.  :-* :-*
