Have fun Mab.  I am also starting a SD loaf.  Same starter as yours.

We have been so busy that I will have to make bread in a day or so or we will have to buy some! Thank goodness for the freezer.

SD Crumpets and SD bread that I didn’t make yesterday.
Trudy’s Lemon Muffins for morning tea. Bottling some apples that are beyond eating.

SD bread from some starter that Chookie gave me at Inverloch.  A lesson learnt, don't make it late in the afternoon or you have to cook it late at night. :-)) :-))
The photo is for Chookie.  I think I should have left it longer to rise as it is a bit dense on the bottom and I forgot to put egg wash on the top.  The top also looks a bit weird.  Tastes good though.

Mab, looks good to me.  Possibly another 15 minutes, but when it is late at night you have to go with the time.
It was hot yesterday, that is why you had to bake at night.  The warm atmosphere would have made it rise fast. Different seasons require different timing.
The egg wash is just cosmetic.
Keep going, you are on a roll.

What a lovely looking loaf. I'd be more than happy to eat that up.

No cooking here today. A friend and I went out to the fairly new DFO here. I was quite disappointed. It is half the size of those in Victoria, Very little is at a discount price (those that I knew) and generally disappointing. All we bought was a few Lindt chocolates (the bars are cheaper in the supermarkets) and my friend bought a bit of makeup, which she said was around $2-3 cheaper than the shops.
I didn't even try on any Sandler shoes!!!!!!

Nice loaf Chookie.
I’ve made roasted capsicum and tomato soup, winter has returned!

Judy, did you use a recipe?
I have been making creamy Cauliflower soup with just small bit of leek, Cauli and well flavoured chicken stock. ( after cooking 100 degrees for 20 minutes, mix speed 10, 1 minute)  I add a spoonful of smokey eggplant dip just before serving it. Really perks it up.

Not really Chookie.  I had roasted some red capsicums in the air fryer (perfect way to do them, using Uni’s posting on our a/f times list) then found a recipe using them called Involtini di peperoni (another of Uni’s comments).  However I didn’t enjoy them so I froze the leftovers and yesterday just threw them in a pan and added a can of tomato soup and some chicken stock.

Cookie, I was disappointed with the DFO too!
Man that SD loaf looks lovely, I love it toasted.
I have made a Christmas cake today. I think this is the first since I started fostering ( 7 years!) I have really missed homemade Christmas cake.  The tin is a family heirloom my Dad made for Mum, heavy gauge metal. So even more special.

Bedlam, inspired by your cake.   Might make one too.
