What are all you perthites having for dinner
« on: February 21, 2012, 09:11:39 am »
I have lost the plot. Busy day, (not been in aircon much) been home about 30 mins, house as hot as an oven.

Have air con on but takes a while.

What Is everyone doing for dinner?

So far all i can think of is milkshakes & coffee frappes.

 :) ??? >:( :)

Well I like what you're having for dinner Hally but we just finished eating tenina's lemon risotto with garlic prawns. Want to make her banana ice cream for later though.

Mmm, just lost the plot with the heat

Ds had cornflakes
Epme cheese & crackers,  ssshhhh
Dh, lamb wraps

Bananna smoothies ready for whoever

This is very unusal for me, just too much running around in the heat, then home to a hot house.I think its the 2nd time ever ds has had cereal for dinner, feel a bit guilty, but for him a real treat.

Tasty, love risotto, will make it one day with chicken.

We had leftovers from last nights meal. I would have cooked bacon and eggs if I didn't have left overs. So hot outside but air on been going all day and I didn't want to cook.
A great cook is one who can rustle up a fabulous family meal with some freezer burnt chops, wilted carrots, sprouting potatoes and cabbage that's gone brown on the cut edges.

made the speck & salad pizza from Dinner Spinner, but used turkey instead (cooked in my little pizza maker so the kitchen didn't get heated up)

Nothing wrong with cereal for dinner.  This has happened on a number of occasions in this house.  When I was a student at uni and on a very tight budget, porridge used to be a staple.  Cheap, warm and filling.

Yesterday was ghastly Hally. We had Robyn's sticky (?) chicken and as I had nearly run out of vegies (shopping day today) Quirky Jo's fried rice. It was quick and it was lovely.

A favourite dessert in our house when the kids were small and I was in a rush was custard with nutra grain cereal on top.  They loved it and so did DH.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I have Alyces QFITT  creamy pasta  recipe in the oven now. Will just reheat when we want tonight. It covers all the food groups so a great meal  to out by the pool in between dips.

Early finish at school today so an afternoon outside.
