Do I use the leftover Panettone and make a large B and B Pud, or do I make something from Helen Goh’s book? Today, minestrone soup. 6

First of the Probus Xmas parties today. Not looking forward to them as most are at Pubs or cafes. All seem to have the same type of food. I only have coffee when we go to cafes as the cakes all seem to come from the same mass produced source. Yuk.

I’ve been looking through Helen Goh’s book. It’s amazing. I’ve marked a few recipes to try for special occasions.
I’ve got an itch to cook bread. Something to use up yogurt. Don’t like the recipes I’ve looked at so might make up my own. 8

Same as last night. Barramundi and veggies.
I baked the B and B puddings in the AF. Squashed some fresh raspberries on top. 9

Tempting fate. I changed wardrobe from winter to summer. Garden growing like mad. I’m eating, lettuce, onion tops, radish, snow peas and silver beet. Lots of herbs. My 7 has arrived back at consultants PO. 10

It sure has turned cold.
I’ve been thinking of adding olives to Brazilian puffs. Had a look at Helen Gohs book and she does more than that. I also love the look of her Passionfruit, white chocolate and macadamia nut cheesecakes. Anything in individual serves is the go for me at the moment. I’m also enjoying the beautiful photos of villages and mountains that my GD is sending me from Nepal. She and her boyfriend are walking with a local guide through the Himalayan mountains. 12

Well done Marina.
Mab, l love having family around. GC came for dinner last night. They are such good company. We shared photos of what we have been doing lately. They are always interested in what I’ve been doing and I love hearing what they get up to. I sampled the Xmas Puds. ( necessary as I’m giving most away). OMG they are delicious. I added an extra 1 teaspoon of Apple Brandy to each small pud. Served with TMX custard. 14

Cookie, with your skill and expertise with SD you probably don’t need the Baker Bleu book. I used the recipe for the Rye and Caraway loaf but varied the method. I found the amount of Caraway perfect.
Made 2 bread sticks for Garlic bread. Used the other third to wrap around olives, into small balls. Remember ISI’s recipe? 15

Made a Rye and Caraway loaf from Baker Bleu book. Very nice. Gardener came so gave him some Pumpkin soup for lunch. He loved the bread. Used it to wipe out his bowl.
Made a Jamie Oliver veggie dish. Roast assorted veggies with curry and oil, then mix, tin of tomatoes, tin of coconut milk and a tin of chickpea. Tip over roasted veggies an and bake for 15 Minutes. |
