Sue are you sure you used bicarb? And the right amount? I make this dessert regularly and the one time I had an incident like you describe I accidently used baking powder instead of bicarb.

Diet / Re: Weight loss Challenge
« on: June 20, 2012, 09:32:35 pm »
I am interested in joining , but like others have tried and failed many times, only to end up bigger than ever and I  scared because I know I really cannot get any bigger. I am interested in hearing from those who have made successful long lasting changes to their diet snd kept the weight off and would like to know what a typical days food is like for them, portions, how much they exercise etc. I work around food all day long and it's really hard not to eat to much. I have been trying to create structure, so I have been having the dairy free protein shake, a yoghurt for morning tea, wraP for lunch, an up and go or rice cakes or something for afternoon tea then dinner. I think I eat to much dinner but I am so hungry after my long busy day!

As a very vocal, excited owner of a tmx (2 actually lol) I hear this kind of stuff ALL the time, people are so rude! I would never take it upon myself to question or make snide comments about what others spend their money on.

Recipe Requests / Re: Healthy Children's Meals please?
« on: June 15, 2012, 09:20:43 am »
Why are you looking for specific children's meals? I am a big believer on just feeding children the same healthy norml meals that we eat, there is plenty of healthy recipes on this forum. Try quirky jos blog and if you google worlds like. Vegetarian , dairy free etc with thermomix you will find stacks of stuff . If you keep limiting your search looking for specific 'kids' food uou won't get very far.

Gert- we're in bayside Melbourne and as far as I know this program has been running for some time. The name of the recipe,  date the food was cooked as well as a complete ingredient list is written on the lid and then a expiry date- usually 3 months. There have never been any cases of food poisoning and there are strict guidelines about what can and can't be included eg no nuts policy of the school etc. sometimes specific requests come up eg vegetarian, gluten free etc but usually any meal that is suitable for freezing eg pasta bakes, cakes, soups and curries are fine. There is definitely a demand for the meals as whenever the stocks are getting low in the freezer we are all asked to cook up another meal.

We do this at my church . Also amongst our group of friends whenever someone has a baby or is sick etc we fOrm a meal roster. I also offer to make a meal for mums at the school I know are having a rough time etc. people underestimate the way something so simple can send so much love and boost someone's spirits. I may be busy and not always have time for lots of things, but we all have time to whip up a meal, and the tmx makes it even easier to bless someone with a meal or a cake :)
