Babies and Kids / Re: Playdough
« on: September 25, 2011, 03:30:49 pm »
Does anyone else have a problem with kneading the playdough?  I thought my tmx was broken because nothing happened when I pressed the knead button but it seems it was just dough caught under the blades.  I had to mix on a high speed and then just tip out and knead together on the bench.

Jams and Chutneys / Re: Pectin Stock from Chelsea and Sally Wise

I'm have an abundance of passionfruits in my backyard at the moment and came across this method to make pectin from the skins while searching for recipes to use them in.
'Boil the skins for approximately 30 minutes, until the flesh of the skin is soft and translucent.  Then remove the skins from the water and scoop out the flesh from the outer cuticle.  Liquidise this softened flesh with water (2 parts softened flesh to 1 part water) until it forms a smooth cream. Use the water in which the skins were boiled as this will contain pectin washed out during the boiling.  Squeeze the mixture through a muslin cloth to remove hard pieces of pith.'
Should be pretty simple with the tmx.

Can anyone shed any light on this error code?
The manual only says it can be fixed by disconnecting from the power supply but whenever I try to to turn the speed dial I get this code.  I've only had my thermomix since Feb so hope is not something very wrong with it :(

Chit Chat / Indian Cookbook?

Does anyone know when the Indian cookbook will be available again?  I'd love to get my hands on it's out of stock.  I desperately want to try the butter chicken everyone raves about!

Well, it most certainly didn't look appetising!  But it tasted great!  My kids came back for seconds so I was very happy.

Just wondering if anyone can help me out with some quick dinner recipes for the family.  I have made some nice risottos and the butter chicken from EDC but need to find some other ideas.  We are a family of 5 - 3 children age 2,4,7.  I'm loving my TMX for all the little extras - bacon cheese rolls for lunch and LTM bars to name a few - but really having a problem adjusting to using it for dinner dishes.

Hi Judy,
Thanks for the welcome!  I joined the forum when I first heard about the thermomix and after browsing here contacted head office for a demo to see for myself if it was as good as it sounded!  Then it took me 12 months to convince myself it would be worth the money.  I have 3 young children so budgeting was an issue!  I attended a friend's demo in December and the 9 month interest free period sold me!  I've popped into the forum many times over the last year but haven't printed anything out yet!  I've alreaady made some plum jam and vegetable stock as well as shortbread and a few meals.  Loving it so far.  Tomorrow I'm making butter!
