Love the fact that occasionally a TM comes up on Masterchef- ie TM spotting!

Actually, Masterchef was where I first saw a Thermomix, so it has been an expensive show for me! I'm very glad I saw it though.

Yes, we're watching it. Although I'm not sure that we'll be quite as dedicated this season, simply because it is just so many nights each week. We've been fans ever since the first series when the wife of one of DH's acquaintances was on it - so we started watching then because of her and got absolutely addicted. I thought last series got a bit too 'big', but I'm enjoying this series again because they seem to have bought it back to being more about the food. So far anyway.

I can thoroughly recommend Quirky Jo's lentil bolognaise (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=4286.0) for a savoury and also her creamy coconut rice pudding ( http://quirkycooking.blogspot.com.au/2011/05/creamy-coconut-vanilla-rice-pudding.html) as a dessert. Both delicious vegan recipes.

I get gluten flour at the health food shop, or occasionally one of the big fruit and vege grocers that have lots of exotic things you don't see at the supermarket.

I tried adding gluten flour to plain flour a couple of times when I was visiting elsewhere and didn't have bakers' flour with me. While the resulting pizza/bread was acceptable, it was definitely not as good as what I produce at home with bakers' flour. I don't know if I got the ratio of gluten to plain flour wrong, or if the oven was different to mine in temperature, etc.

I have been thinking about buying some muslin, and then remembered that my mum always used to use stockings to drain her cottage cheese. Always worked for her - I guess they are like Chux.

Looks very nice. Added to my list of soups to try this winter. Any idea of what the weight of corn in 6 cobs might be (I will probably use frozen kernels).

I gave my food processor to DH's neice when she got married recently. Like Deedub, I rarely used it before as it had too many attachments. However, since the TMX I have purchased both a yoghurt maker and an ice cream maker to handle the 'finishing stages' of making these in the TMX.

MMM, sounds nice. I imagine that you could add the vanilla bean paste when you heat the milk, like you would add sugar if you wanted your yoghurt sweeter. I don't think it should create the problems that the acidity of fruit does. Will be interested in hearing about everyone's experiments. I can barely keep up with the demand for plain yoghurt in this house, let alone getting around to other flavours!

So true Medusa. Had my TMX for over a year, and still learning lots by hanging out on the forum. Also Harper, if you have time, just browse, and click on any threads that you think might be relevant to you.

Hugs, DG. I have a friend whose son has high-functioning autism, and has just turned 8. While his issues sound a bit different to the challenges your son is facing (seems to be different expression with different kids), I'd really encourage you to seek further help, if possible first through your school's counsellor. There are detailed professional assessments. My friend only had the assessment done a year ago, and I know she really fought to have it and to get it for free (originally quoted hundreds of dollars). Getting that assessment changed everything for this family - they now have classroom aids, social supports, weighted blankets, special clothing, home help, etc.  She has pushed for everything. While life is still a challenge, they now have so many extra resources, and a supportive circle of people who have personal experience of autism within their families.

All the best with this, whatever the assessment says. It is so hard when we see our children struggling, especially when their peers seem to be doing ok. I'm so glad your son's teacher cares and is interested enough to want to work with you on it.
