Caught up with friends at their farm today, so much fun.
now baking..... quiches, mini quiches, lamb for dinner.


2morrow I can bake biccies, slices, rice paper rolls,  heaps for school Tuesday

Went to Nelson Bay, a favourite of ours and took mum. Quite hot at 37 but had a lovely breeze off the water as we ate lunch at The Marina - Vues restaurant, very nice.

Brr my goodness that's bloody cold Denise. Its not that cold here,about 0c at the moment.I can see frost on the ground.We have rain coming so it will make the temperature rise.

0 sounds pretty cold to me, have you had much snow yet this year?
We have the other extreme next week with 40 expected. The poor people in marble bar had 49 last week.  Just can't imagine it that hot.

Made a trip to Bunnings for a few things and ended up in the nursery section. After also picking up some compost and mulch and spending  an hour or so in the garden I now have a new vegie/herb patch - spinach, cucumbers, coriander, spring onions, mint, lemon thyme and a bay tree yet to find a home. Totally unplanned as was the stop off at a wholesale meat place.  Amongst my purchases was a 5kg+ leg of ham for just $18 which has now been removed from the bone and frozen in chunks for future use on pizzas, sandwiches and in quiches.

A friend gave me a tiny bay tree years ago.I just plonked into my herb bed and it has taken off.DH had to give it a radical "haircut" as it got so bushy.My friend couldn't believe the size it had grown,hers is still small

Great purchases Judy. Do you need to put shade cloth over the Vegies etc during the summer? I'd love a Bay tree and a lime tree but all my hints don't get listened to.

Cookie.. If you don't have "garden room" both the bay and lime are great in pots!

I had a bay tree previously in a big pot but it suddenly died - dead bay leaves are nothing like dried ones LOL.  I also had a lime tree in a pot which was doing well but that died when I transplanted it into the ground.  You win some and you lose some but I lose a lot LOL. The vegies will only receive the morning sun cookie so it's a bit of an experiment preparing this new area. Where I used to grow things, they're now all being eaten by something (except parsley and spring onions) so I've got nothing to lose by trying to grow a few things on the opposite side of the house.  For those who have been to my house, you can see the new patch from my kitchen window, it's in front of the brick wall which is my neighbour's house.

Sounds like a busy day Judy.

I have been away for work for a few days. Had a sleep in today, then went out of a 2.5 hour bike ride which blew out to be a little longer because I misjudged the wind direction. After that I had a lie down ad finished my book.

Then in the afternoon I washed both my bikes and, cleaned and oiled the chains. I also fertilized and watered my lemon and lime trees and rhubarb.

GF pots would be good, the only problem they tend to dry out on very hot days and often we aren't here to give them a water in the heat.

Wow Judy you are a busy bee. I'm very pleased with all my produce plants at the moment. It is amazing hat time and nurture does.  When we got back from Tassie my orange and line had no leaves!
