Great Judy, that's what I was thinking, but I didn't want to burden anyone :)

I've added me to the list Judy. If we go with The Welcome Or Swanston I'm fine. I've just found the Welcome a bit on the small side.  They are basically adjoining anyway. You go to the left for one and the right for the other as you leave reception.

I'm ready to book - DH loves Melbourne as that is where he first came to Australia. I will be there but unsure about Don.

I'm not looking at staying overnight at this stage. Still trying to negotiate DH's work roster and babysitters as he is scheduled for shift work all that weekend. I will definitely be up there for the alyce class on Saturday....the rest is pie in the sky atm.

I will not need a room, Judy, I will head home at the end of each day as we are very close to that part of the CBD - if feeling energetic, I could even walk home!

Judy, I'm not sure what I'll do yet and as my plans always seem to change I won't commit but if am able to book a room closer then might go with that option otherwise I will go home each day.

also, I would definitely go with the Swanston Grand Mecure  rather than Welcome, eventhough they are adjoining I found the Welcome to not be so great. It was the Swanston that I checked out a few months ago.

That will be lovely Mich.
I am not trying to put pressure on anyone but I found these photos in my collection this morning.

Well that looks lovely Cookie. DH and I don't care where we stay as we aren't room dwellers and will be out and about soaking up the Melbourne atmosphere. We haven't been there since we went to Ral and Chookie's.  :)

Looks good to me cookie. I will join you in the Swanston. I deserve a nice room.

I'm going to wait until the prices have been negotiated, both look OK to me. I'm like Michele, I spend very little time in my room so as long as it's clean, the size doesn't matter to me. I guess we will also need to know if anyone is coming earlier or leaving later so that these dates can be included in our negotiations. Anyone coming in on the 22nd (Thurs)?
