Title: Frying Pan Lemon Tart.
Post by: achookwoman on September 03, 2015, 06:40:35 am
How about this for easy and tasty. Mixed in TMX, started in frying pan and finished off in the oven.
You do need a 20cm non stick pan with a handle that will go in the oven. This recipe is adapted to TMX fron David Herbert's Best Home Cooking.
Serves 6 to 8

Set oven 190 FF

Ingredients
30 g butter
4 eggs
120 g caster sugar.
Pinch salt
45g ground Almonds
120 g cream
zest and juice of 1 large lemon.
45 g of flaked almonds.
Icing sugar for dusting.

Method
Place butter in non stick pan over medium heat.
Place in TMX bowl, eggs, sugar, cream , salt , ground Almonds and lemon rind and juice.
Mix 10 seconds speed 7.
Add flaked almonds, mix 5 seconds speed 7.
When butter is bubbling tip mixture into pan and cook until the edges are set.
Place in oven and bake 15 minutes. ( the top should be brown.)
Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Using a spatula carefully loosen the edges and turn on to a fine mesh cake rack.  Then turn onto serving plate.
Dust with icing sugar.

Just had a slice with a cuppa, very nice Chookie.  I've never made a lemon tart before but I know how much Ral loves them.

I already had the oven on and all the ingredients Denise so this recipe came along at the right time

Chookie I forgot to say that I used reverse when adding the flaked almonds (I used the slivered variety) as I thought it would add a nice bit of texture to the custard which it did.

OMGJudy.  That was quick. Looks good. Hope you enjoy it.
I think it is a good one to cook after you have cooked bread or while the oven is on.

This was quick and delicious.
I think I should have cooked mine a little longer as I had trouble getting it out of the pan in one piece. I topped it with pitted cherries to hide my mishap and no one was the wiser.
