Can anyone help? I have spilled tumeric on the left hand side of the outer controls (near the temperature controls). Now stained yellow.

Perhaps try one of those Magic Erasers or some bleach on a cloth, I even read someone uses antibacterial spray but have never experienced this problem myself. I'd just try everything and anything. Good luck.

Might steer clear of the magic erasers as they will probably dull the white parts of the TM. I only use them occasionally in the bowl. Try the bleach or something else non abrasive. I have a little stain at the top where the lid clicks in that I would like to get rid of as well.
I would try it now but I'm in the workshop framing. Let us know how you go.

My partner spilled turmeric on our benchtop last night whilst making dinner, we used gumption on it and it cleaned right off.
I often use gumption to clean the bottom of my TMX bowl.

Is this usually available in supermarkets? I can't say I have ever see it or heard of it before. Sounds like good stuff.

Yes and definitely yes. I used to buy White Lily but this is the nearest thing these days. *Checks cupboard to make sure there's still some in there* ;)

You guys are naughty making me buy more stuff lol.
Although I do love cleaning products.
I have this stain In my toilet that I absolutely hate, I spent a small fortune on heaps of different products to try and get rid of it, I even tried putting a kitchen glove on and scrubbing it to get rid of the mark :(
But nothing ever worked, so now I'm going to just buy a whole new toilet cistern ;D

$1.06 for the gloves $5.19 for gumption, not bad for something that lasts for ages ( not the gloves though yuck)

Well I will let you know how I go Friday afternoon after my groceries have been delivered.

I wouldn't use gumption, it's very abrasive. Turmeric stains will fade over time, just keep wiping with a damp cloth and it will come off eventually. I made curry powder last week, and my MC and lid were vibrant yellow for a few days, but it's almost completely faded now. :)

I use gumpton all the time. works brillantly.
You don't need to use much.

Yes I am a lover of Gumption, one of the kids accidentally went off the paper today with their texta and drew on the laminex table - no problems with it's removal using the gumption.

What never heard of gumption...fab stuff and one of my care package must haves along with vegemite and some masterfoods products lol

Definitely go with the gumption. I use it to clean everything including the stainless steel sink and it is especially good at getting grease off the glass on the inside of the oven door! As mentioned, a little bit goes a very long way and I would be lucky to get through a tube every 18 months or so.

Be careful when using an abrasive cleaner as you can rub off the control markings on your TM. :)

I use bi-carb for everything. It doesn't scratch even a matt finish stainless steel toaster.
Gumption is good, but it has detergent and needs to be rinsed to remove it. Bi carb just wipes off first time.
I'd still be careful not to rub vigorously, though.

I would try a natural cleaner before using a commercial one as there is less chance of "setting" the stain. I would try wiping the bicarb on with a damp cloth and then spray with vinegar. While it is fizzing rub gently with a chux.
Correction:
I have just checked Shannon Lush's book (from the ABC radio program) and she says to fill a 1 litre spray bottle with water and add 1 teaspoon of lavender oil. Shake well and lightly mist over the area and then wipe off.
Not knowing where the stain is I would be very careful whatever you do that you do not remove any of the control marking. Any of the mentioned products/solutions could potentially do that.

Not sure if this would work for turmeric - but it does with carrot juice... Wipe the orange carrot juice stain with vegetable oil. The carrot juice will dissolve into the oil and then the two (now one!) will be able to be washed off with a detergent cloth.

Personally I would leave it to wear off - which it will do over a short period of time. I have seen how easily the marking can be rubbed off on the control panel by unsuspecting people and their cleaning agents :( :(
