Just taking each day as it comes.

Dh is not in a rush to go over, i keep saying do you want to go for the weekend etc.  i think he is still believs that she will be around a lot longer.  He has accepted its terminal (hate that word) but dosnt want to believe she might have a month if were lucky. He doesnt think bone cancer kills, just a painful way to be for a long time.

Its hard as I cant push him to go.

Oh what a mix on this thread....
The circle of family life in all its glory on here.

So sorry Hally, I think Frozzies advice regarding CP is very sound.. especially as there is obvious disfigurement, I think best to let him remember her as she was, and you can reinforce his memories with other good memories. I hope your DH will sleep on it and go visit his Mother soon. And please God that for your MIL, and any others who are so very ill, that it will be over as quickly and comfortably as possible.

Lovely dress Jo. My DD still has all her wee birthday dresses stored in a box... Maybe they'll be for the next generation, who knows!

Such heat.... Completely unknown in this cold and clammy land of rain!

Just a work day here, with the weekend to look forward to.  ;D

Hally poor dh.. will his sisters call when the hospital calls?? The hospital will let family know when they think there is only a few days but its a bit of a guessing game ad they dose them up on some pretty hefty drugs to make them comfortable and after family is there and says goodbye they help them along as much as they can... We spoke to my mil on the monday and she was fine in hospital although not very positive then on the phone then on wednesday we got a call to come immediately if we could as dh was laid up in bed with his back .. got there saw her on the wednesday although she was hard to understand then she passed on the friday night.. we all took turns sitting with her.. Oh this brings tears to my eyes.. Thinking of you and your family.. Hard times xx

After such a stinker here yesterday with a max of 45C, we are looking forward to a slightly cooler day.  It should give me a chance to cool the house down before it starts to heat up again tomorrow.
We have no air-con (a choice we made), but it looks like a poor decision in this weather!  At least we have a pool to cool down in.

It was funny to see an empty beach as here everyone seems to flock to the beach when it is hot. Even on a week day.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

What a lot of news to catch up on this thread. So sorry to hear about you MIL Halex, I hope your DH is able to make the trip to say goodbye to her.

We are getting ready for  a surprise party that DD friends have organized for her 18th birthday. I am stressed but we have put plans in place to try to make it as happy and safe as possible, not a  lot else I can do now except just hope they behave!  They are all good kids so fingers crossed.  Am popping to a friends 60th birthday prior to this but will only be able to stay an hour

Haven't been on much last few days as we have a wifi problem at home.  >:(
Our office computer guy coming out to fix it one day next week.

Hally I hope DH makes it home to say goodbye to his mum.
We were in Zimbabwe when my FIL passed away 2 days before we came home.
They told us they thought he still had 3 months at least before we left.
We were all devasted especially as we had lost my dad a couple of months before.  :(
All the kids still went regularly  to see my dad in pallative care and we explained to the little ones that he was going to die.
It brightened his day having them all visit and gave him comfort in his last days.
Everyone handles things differently and all I can say is I hope your MIL passes peacefully and without pain Hally.
So sad for all of you  :(

DH gave me a set 6 cutlery holders as for Christmas - over the past few days almost completed the 6 - all embroidery done only need to attach the backs to form the pocket, have bought another set so there will be 12.  Really fiddly and loads of work but pleased with the result
